Supernatural Faith That Produces Love!

Image
Supernatural Faith That Produces Love “We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren, as is only fitting, because your faith is greatly enlarged, and the love of each one of you toward one another grows ever greater;” — 2 Thessalonians 1:3 Reflection When the apostle Paul prayed for the believers in Ephesus, he asked Father God to strengthen them with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ would dwell in their hearts through faith and they would be rooted and grounded in love (Ephesians 3:16–17). He went on to pray that they would comprehend the greatness of Christ’s love, which surpasses knowledge, and be filled up to all the fullness of God. It’s interesting to note here that being strengthened by God’s Spirit in the inner man results first in faith. Faith is a thing. It has substance. It has a spiritual fiber, if you will. It is power. Hebrews 11:1 describes faith as the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen. Faith is ...

4 Rs: Plugged in to the Power Source !

Image
4 Rs: Plugged in to the Power Source Scripture: “Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”  (Ephesians 4:30, NKJV) To grieve the Holy Spirit is to live in direct disobedience to the known will of God. Why is this so important for us to avoid? Relationship The Holy Spirit is the one who has sealed us for the day of redemption. However, we must remember that this sealing is just the  beginning  of a living and vital relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit has been poured into our heart to enlighten us about the will of God. The Holy Spirit gives us direction and a sense of mission. This is  Son Power  at work. Revelation The Holy Spirit reveals to us the secrets of the kingdom of God which those who do not know Christ cannot know or understand. He is the one who empowers us to live what Christ taught when he was in the world. He is the one who intervenes for us in our prayer life. When we g...

Jesus Christ in Him All Things Are Possible!

Image
Jesus Christ: In Him All Things Are Possible  A Devotional Reflection The declaration that "in Him all things are possible" stands as one of the most transformative truths in Scripture. This principle invites us to examine what it truly means to place our confidence in Christ and how this reality reshapes our understanding of life's challenges and opportunities.  The Foundation of Possibility From a theological perspective, this promise rests on several foundational truths about Christ's nature and authority: Christ's Divine Nature and  Matthew 28:18 records Jesus stating, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me." This isn't merely positional authority—it reflects His divine nature and unlimited power. When we understand that Christ possesses all authority, we recognize that limitations we perceive are often products of our finite perspective rather than actual constraints. The Scope of His  Philippians 3:21 describes how Christ...

The Judgement Factor!

Image
The Judgment Factor Scripture: Romans 2:16, NLT “This is the message I proclaim—that the day is coming when God, through Christ Jesus, will judge everyone’s secret life. ” (Romans 2:16, NLT) The judgment of God is something we often do not want to think or talk about. But the message of this verse in Romans is that judgment is very real. Our life on earth is temporary. Hebrews 9:27 tells us, “People are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment” (NIV). The apostle John wrote, “The Father judges no one. Instead, he has given the Son absolute authority to judge” (John 5:22, NLT). Judgement is real. Relationship A right relationship with God through Christ saves us from the wrath of God. “I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life” (John 5:24, NLT). We have already passed from death to life through God’s provision. Rev...

JESUS CHRIST IS THE COMMANDMENT OF GOD!

Image
In Christian theology and Scripture, the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ center on love, faith, obedience, and total devotion to God and neighbor. When asked which commandment was the most important, Jesus summarized all of God's laws into two foundational principles. 1. The Great Commandment (The Greatest Commands) When questioned by a lawyer in the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus gave the core summary of the entire Law and the Prophets:   Love for God (The First Commandment): To love the Lord God with all your heart, soul, and mind.   Love for Neighbor (The Second Commandment): To love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus stated that all other commandments and prophetic teachings hang on these two foundational principles ( Matthew 22:36–40 ; Mark 12:28–31 ). 2. The New Commandment During the Last Supper, Jesus gave His disciples what He explicitly called a "new commandment" :   Sacrificial Love: Disciples are commanded to love one another as Jesus loved them ...

4 are: Son Power Helps Us Understand the Times!

Image
4 Rs: Son Power Helps Us Understand the Times Scripture: 1 Chronicles 12:32, NLT “From the tribe of Issachar, there were 200 leaders of the tribe with their relatives. All these men understood the signs of the times and knew the best course for Israel to take.”  (1 Chronicles 12:32, NLT) In the Old Testament there were men of great wisdom who knew what they needed to do. We need insight provided by the Holy Spirit to understand the signs of our times. The world around us is confused, but God will give us the wisdom necessary to navigate the difficulties facing us. Relationship Our relationship with the Holy Spirit enables us to have that understanding. Revelation We know that the Holy Spirit not only seals us, but also reveals to us the secrets of God’s kingdom. Then he deals with us as he leads us in the way God’s desires. Reflection We need to look to him to empower us to do the things that he reveals to us. Redemption We must make sure the Holy Spirit is in control of our...

Ruth 3:1-18!

Image
Introduction Ruth 3:1–18: Naomi encourages Ruth to offer herself to Boaz so he will marry her and provide a stable home. When she does this, Boaz says that a closer relative has the first right to marry Ruth if he chooses, but Boaz promises to marry her if he does not. Aware of how Ruth’s visit might be perceived, Boaz takes measures to safeguard her reputation and sends her home with extra barley. Today’s Key Verse: Ruth 3:10a GNT “The LORD bless you,” [Boaz] said. “You are showing even greater family loyalty in what you are doing now than in what you did for your mother-in-law.” Read 1  Some time later Naomi said to Ruth, “I must find a husband for you, so that you will have a home of your own.  2 Remember that this man Boaz, whose women you have been working with, is our relative. Now listen. This evening he will be threshing the barley.  3  So wash yourself, put on some perfume, and get dressed in your best clothes. Then go where he is threshing, but don't...
