Sourced in God !

Image
Sourced in God Memorize and Meditate “ For I know that through your prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance. ” (Philippians 1:19) Soak your Heart This verse is power-packed. I want to soak my heart in it. Our communion with God through the provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ provides the way for our deliverance, both in this world and the world to come. In Kingdom of God  we learn through Scripture and we practice keeping Jesus Christ as the focus of our life. We realize that everything is sourced in him. His Spirit can supply the peace, love, patience, and kindness we need. He also has the power to ultimately make all things turn out for our good. He is the God of provision and of all power. Sow to the Spirit We learn to communicate with God through prayer, which simply means talking with God. We learn to communicate with God as we acknowledge that all things are sourced in him. We admit that without his

The Compass of life!

The Compass of Life Memorize and Meditate “ And he said, ‘…. As for me, being on the way, the Lord led me to the house of my master’s brethren.’”  (Genesis 24:27) Soak your Heart If we expect to receive God’s guidance, direction, and blessing, it is critical that we are “on the way” – the Lord’s way. If we expect him to answer our requests, we must make sure we are abiding in him and his Word is abiding us. We must bring our lives into harmony with his revealed will for us. Only then are we empowered to fulfill the mission he has given us. What better time to check that we are “on the way” God has chosen for us than when we are meditating on the Word he wants to incorporate into our life? Sow to the Spirit As we talk with God, it is important for us to make sure we are conforming with the directions he seeks to give us. Pray, “Lord, I want to make sure what I am doing is in accordance with your revealed will for me at this time.” Abraham’s servant fulfilled his mission by “being on the

The Best Anxiety Preventive!

Image
The Best Anxiety Preventive Memorize and Meditate “ Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. ” (James 1:21) Soak your Heart For the Word of God to work in our heart, we need to make sure we have a clean heart, free from the control of sin. This is why we confess and repent of our sin to restore a working relationship with God. One of the best protections against sin gaining control is to humbly accept and plant the Word in our heart. God’s Word can save us from fear, anxiety, and a host of other maladies seek to control us. The Psalmist said he hid God’s Word in his heart so he would not sin against God. We want to soak our heart in the Word. Sow to the Spirit As I meditate on these concepts, I want to sow them to the Spirit by praying them into my heart and soul. I ask God to implant his Word deeply within my inner being. His Word is food for my spirit and soul. More times than I can rememb

Don’t Bottle it Up!

Image
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:32 Don’t Bottle It Up We ‘ re  all aware of the damage that toxic waste sites do to the soil, the water, the air, and the people nearby. Negative emotions are like that. You can’t bury the anger, the hurt, the rejection, or the betrayal inside and think it’s not going to contaminate and poison you. When you bottle up negative emotions, they never die and they always leak out and resurface. At some point that poison will contaminate not just your dreams, your attitude, and your vision, but it will poison your relationship with the people in your life. It will drain out your joy, your peace, your creativity.   The good news is that you can get that toxic waste out of you. Don’t bottle up the bitterness, the guilt, or the resentment. Let it go. You have to forgive and release the person and give what happened to you to God. It wasn’t right what they did, but you’re forgiving so

The Richest Life!

Image
The Richest Life Memorize and Meditate “ Yes, the Almighty will be your gold and your precious silver. ” (Job 22:25) Soak your Heart For many people, money and earthly wealth become a god. However, as we begin to soak our heart in the Word of God and see it working in us and in our circumstances, a new reality comes into focus. Our relationship with God is far more valuable than anything else. Whereas gold and silver are inanimate, all power belongs to God. He is alive. His works are wonderful. Life is found in him alone. Soak your heart in this truth, and God will become your gold and precious silver. Sow to the Spirit When I talk with God, I acknowledge that he is more precious to me than any material thing. He wants us to partake of his divine nature by way of his Holy Spirit working in us. As we sow these thoughts to the Spirit, we begin to experience the wonders of his Word and to taste a little of the power of the coming age. Flow with the Spirit What a sense of expectation we

Beneath The Surface!

Image
“Look beneath the surface so you can judge correctly.” John 7:24 Beneath the Surface You may have heard that it takes six seconds to make a first impression. Most people don’t realize how many times they look at someone and instantly decide if they’re going to like them or not. The Scripture says that man looks at the outward appearance of others while God looks at the heart. You can’t see a person’s heart as He can, but as Jesus said, you can look beneath the surface. You can take time to get to know someone who might look or act differently than you. Don’t just write someone off because they don’t measure up to your standards. You never know how God will use that relationship in your life. Jesus said, “Whatever you’ve done to the least of these, you’ve done to Me.” In other words, when we make quick judgments about people, it’s as if we are making quick judgments about God. Don’t fall into that trap. Instead, look beneath the surface. Look for the good in others, find some common g

God’s Word Works!

Image
God’s Word Works! Memorize and Meditate “ And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe. ” (1 Thessalonians 2:13) Soak your Heart If we are to taste the goodness of God’s Word, we first have to receive it, accept it, and implant it in the depths of our heart. We cannot read the Word of God the same way we read other books. God’s Word is living and powerful, and it will work in the life of the believer who views it as such. It works like a powerful medicine when it is properly ingested. We trust that it will prosper in us and accomplish the purpose for which it was sent. Sow to the Spirit As you talk to God, put this verse in your own words. Tell God you believe what it says, and that you look forward to it working in you and through you. View it as a powerful medicine that will work as you memorize and meditat

The Hand of Blessings!

Image
You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Psalm 139:5 The Hand of Blessing In the Old Testament, when an elderly father was about to pass, he would place his hand on his children’s heads and speak what was called “the blessing.” These faith-filled words would help set the direction for their lives. Some of us have received this blessing from fathers who spoke faith into us, but many of us are like David, whose father only told him what he couldn’t become. But David knew that God had placed His hand of blessing on him. As powerful as the blessing is from your natural father, imagine your Heavenly Father placing His hand of blessing on you right now. Jesus also laid hands on people and healed the sick. Laying on of hands was a significant moment, a transfer of power and healing. When the Most High God placed His hand of blessing on your head, He marked you for favor, for greatness, for healing, to overcome obstacles. What other people do cannot stop th

God is Real To Those Who Cultivate a Relationship With Him!

Image
God is Real to Those Who Cultivate a Relationship With Him Memorize and Meditate “ Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. ” (Psalm 37:5–6) Soak your Heart This verse and a multitude of other verses in the Bible assure us that God is at work in the lives of his children. God is relevant. God is real to those who cultivate their relationship with him through Jesus Christ. If we commit our daily routine and mission work to him, and trust him to fulfill what he says, we can expect God to act in us and in our circumstances. He will bring forth the  Christ  in us, and we can expect him to grant success in our mission. Sow to the Spirit A verse like this is what I like to call a “button pusher.”  It makes me want to try it. When I talk with God, I tell him I am committing my way to him, and that I trust him to fulfill whatever role he has in mind for accomplishing his purposes. I recit

Complete Your Incompletion!

Image
It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah. Luke 2:26 Complete Your Incompletions In today’s Scripture, you can imagine how far out the revelation given by the Holy Spirit to a man named Simeon seemed. As time went by, and Simeon didn’t see any sign of the Messiah, I’m sure the negative thoughts came: “You heard God wrong. It’s been too long. It’s never going to happen.” Nevertheless, Simeon awakened every morning believing, expecting, and knowing that it would happen, and one day he met the newborn Jesus in the temple. The promise came to a dramatic fulfillment and Simeon declared, “My eyes have seen Your salvation!” Life will try to push you down, steal your dreams, and talk you into settling for less than what God promises. Will you stay in faith, even though every voice tells you that it’s not happening? God is saying to you what He said to Simeon: “You need to get ready. I am going to finish what I started. No one a

The Spirit Empowers!

Image
The Spirit Empowers Memorize and Meditate “ For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. ” (Romans 8:13) Soak your Heart We cannot live the Christian life by our own power. By nature, we are shot through with sin. Only by the grace of God can we overcome the power of sin. This verse from Romans tells us that if we put to death the misdeeds of the body by the power of the Spirit, we will live and be able to overcome the power of sin. We have the choice to be filled with the Holy Spirit and to live under his control. Sow to the Spirit Acknowledge to God you are powerless to live the Christian life, and ask the Holy Spirit to help you walk under his control. Trust that he will empower you to live a life that is pleasing in his sight. Flow with the Spirit Receive by faith the life the Spirit will impart to your mortal body as you trust him to do so. Total dependence on him is critical. He is the condu

The Prince of Peace!

Image
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 The Prince of Peace Beyond the great food, beyond the Christmas gifts, beyond the lights and music, God reminds us of the most wonderful gift that has ever been given…this gift is Jesus. The babe in the manger. The Savior of the world, who brought the promise of unconditional love, unending hope, and eternal life to every person who believes in Him. He is our Prince of Peace. Jesus doesn’t just have peace; He is peace. He gives us peace that passes understanding, peace that never changes, peace that can never be taken away. The apostle Paul put it this way: “Thanks be to God for his Son—a gift too wonderful for words.” Jesus is God’s perfect, indescribable gift. And the amazing thing is that not only are we personally able to receive this gift that is too wonderful for words, but we are abl

Grow with the Increase From God !

Image
Grow with the Increase from God Memorize and Meditate “ For everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. ” (Hebrews 5:13) Soak your Heart The Word of God is to our soul what food is to our physical body. When we grasp this truth, we have a tremendous incentive to delve deeply into the Word and to establish a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Only through a rich diet of the Word dwelling in us can we be strengthened in our inner person. Not only that, but it is impossible for us to grow spiritually without “eating” the Word.  A child or a baby will not grow unless it moves on to a more mature diet. This verse confirms we will be unskilled in our spiritual walk unless we partake of a mature diet. Sow to the Spirit Express gratitude to God for providing his Word. Tell him how much you believe in it. Reflect on how the Word works inside you, transforming your attitudes and behavior. Flow with the Spirit As you listen to the Spirit,
