Trust Gid With Tomorrow!

Image
Trust God With Tomorrow “But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head.” — Psalm 3:3 Reflection Beloved, in order for us to walk with God more intimately, we must believe that God is reigning in our circumstances each and every day. He is paying attention to the details of our lives, and He is not going to leave us alone. When Jacob was sleeping with his head on a rock, he had a dream in which he saw a ladder reaching from earth to heaven, with angels of God ascending and descending upon it. When he woke up, he said, “Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it” (Genesis 28:16). What place was he referring to? The very place where he was lying. God was with him in his life, in his circumstances, right there, here and now. Through this experience, Jacob gained the confidence to know that he wasn’t alone. We must make up our minds to trust God, regardless of what is taking place around us. God is our shield. But there is a battle that t...

Perishable to Imperishable!

Image
Perishable to Imperishable Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:14–15, NKJV “The love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.”  (2 Corinthians 5:14–15, NKJV) The love of Christ compels us! He died for us and rose again to give us right standing with God, not only to provide our way to heaven, but also to save us to do good works while we are still in this world. He has gone ahead of us to prepare a place for us, and he is coming back to receive us, so we can be with him. All of this motivates and enables us to take up our assigned places in his earthly kingdom to do his will until he comes to take us home. What does this mean? It means that we are so compelled by his love that we want to make sure his transforming power is at work in us, enabling us to convert the perishable things of this world into the imperishable...

Finding Peace From Within!

Image
Finding Peace From Within “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.” — John 14:27 Beloved, Father God wants to fill us with His shalom, His peace. In Ephesians 3:16, the apostle Paul prayed that we would be strengthened with power through God’s Spirit in our inner man. The Hebrew word for spirit is  ruach , which also means breath. After Yeshua had been raised from the dead, He appeared to His disciples and said, “Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” Then Messiah breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit” (John 20:21–22). Still today, Yeshua is breathing His life into His bride, the people who belong to Him, through His Spirit. This is why the Bible says we are partakers of His divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). His divine nature has been and is being imparted into our lives. When Jesus breathed on His disciples and said, “Peace be with you,” He was speaking into their inner man, rooting and groun...

The Son Power Dynamic!

Image
The Son Power Dynamic Scripture: Isaiah 64:4, NLT “Since the world began, no ear has heard and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him!”  (Isaiah 64:4, NLT) The  Son Power  dynamic is God at work in us and in our circumstances. The key ingredient is for us to wait and trust in him. We have learned that God’s desire for us is to not trust in ourselves, but to trust in  him  and his plans for us. Consider all the ways that God works on our behalf. Psalm 38:2 tells us, “The LORD says, ‘I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you’” (NLT). Psalm 16:7 says, “I will bless the LORD who guides me” (NLT). Psalm 32:7 proclaims, “For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory” (NLT). Ephesians 1:13–14 declares, “You were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance” (NKJV). Paul wrote to the Corinthians, “The...

The Spirit Who Teaches and Guides!

Image
The Spirit Who Teaches and Guides “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” — John 14:26 Reflection Beloved, throughout Scripture, we see that God has always desired to communicate with His people. When Israel gathered at the foot of Mount Sinai, the people were so terrified of God’s presence, holiness, and awesome power that they cried out to Moses, “Speak to us yourself and we will listen; but let not God speak to us, or we will die” (Exodus 20:19). Yet God still wanted to communicate with His people, so He used the Law of Moses as a tool to teach and guide them. He also spoke through judges, priests, kings, and the prophets He appointed. Through all these generations, God’s Law continued to communicate His ways and His truth. When Jesus came as the fulfillment of the Law, God’s desire was fulfilled: He was speaking directly to His people! God in the flesh could no...

God’s Infinite Power at Work!

Image
God’s Infinite Power at Work Scripture: Colossians 1:15–17, NLT “Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together. ” (Colossians 1:15–17, NLT) Reread these verses. No other power  imaginable  is greater than what is described here. Christ, himself, is God. He existed before all of creation. God created everything in heaven and earth for him, by him and through him including all things seen and unseen. It is by his great power that all things are held together. This takes on even greater meaning when we look at the universe, the planets, and countless stars. The same incredible powe...

Esther 6:1-13!

Image
Esther 6:1–13: King Xerxes unexpectedly discovers Mordecai’s role in thwarting a previous plot against his life and decides to honor him. Haman, thinking the honors are for him, advises the king to dress the man in royal robes and parade him through the city. Haman is embarrassed to learn that the honors are for Mordecai. Instead of killing Mordecai, he is forced to carry out the king’s order. Today’s Key Verse: Esther 6:11b GNT Mordecai got on the horse, and Haman led him through the city square, announcing to the people as they went: “See how the king rewards a man he wishes to honor!” Read 1 That same night the king could not get to sleep, so he had the official records of the empire brought and read to him. 2 The part they read included the account of how Mordecai had uncovered a plot to assassinate the king—the plot made by Bigthana and Teresh, the two palace eunuchs who had guarded the king's rooms. 3 The king asked, “How have we honored and rewarded Mordecai for this?” 4 “Ar...

Soaking Up God’s Word!

Image
Soaking Up God’s Word Scripture: Job 22, NKJV The 22nd chapter of Job confirms a few of the basic principles of KingdomNomics for making the Word  of God personally operative in our lives. In verse 21 we are encouraged to acquaint ourselves with God so that we will be at peace with him and have the prospect of good coming our way. It is emphasized for us to receive instruction from his mouth, and then to be sure to lay up his words in our heart. This confirms that we must soak our heart in the Word of God, treating it like our spiritual M and Ms, that is,  m emorizing and  m editating on it. How good it is to feel and know that God is planning to have good coming our way!  These truths point us in the direction of the truth stated in Job 23:14, “For He performs what is appointed for me.” (NKJV) Wow! This tells us that God is taking an active and working part in our lives as we acquaint ourselves with him and store up his word in our heart. Let’s be sure to fir...

Esther 5:1-14!

Image
October  17 Introduction Esther 5:1–14: Esther visits King Xerxes with a plan to save the Jews even though he has ordered their killing throughout the Persian Empire. She invites him to two banquets with the prime minister, Haman. After the first, Haman sees Mordecai and is angered when he again refuses to honor him (see Esther 3:1–6). But Haman boasts of his favor with the king and plans to have Mordecai hanged the next day. Today’s Key Verse: Esther 5:9b GNT Then he saw Mordecai at the entrance of the palace, and when Mordecai did not rise or show any sign of respect as he passed, Haman was furious with him. Read 1  On the third day of her fast Esther put on her royal robes and went and stood in the inner courtyard of the palace, facing the throne room. The king was inside, seated on the royal throne, facing the entrance.  2  When the king saw Queen Esther standing outside, she won his favor, and he held out to her the gold scepter. She then came up and touc...

The Power to Change Belongs to God!

Image
The Power to Change Belongs to God Scripture: Job 26:8-14, NKJV How awesome is our God! In Job 26:8-14 (NKJV) we are told, among other things, that he hangs the earth on nothing, and that he  stirs up the sea with his power, and by his Spirit he adorned the heavens. The power and scope of his workings are beyond human comprehension. Even with the revelation of these truths we are told that, “Indeed these are the mere edges of his ways.” We have so much more to see, understand, and experience in our relationship with God. This is why Paul said he can do more than what we can ask, think, or imagine by his incredible and immeasurable power that is at work on the inside of us and in our circumstances. Today, ask yourself: Does my view of God take into account the unlimited attributes of his capacities? Do I believe he can accomplish anything he desires to do in the heart of a willing Christian who trusts in him? Ask God to help you to see him for who he really is: Almighty God!

Guided by God’s Word and Spirit!

Image
Guided by God’s Word and Spirit “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.” — Matthew 5:17 Reflection Learning elementary Hebrew was not easy for me. As a young man, I did not learn the language by osmosis. Just because I hung around others who spoke Hebrew did not mean I would automatically pick it up. I had to study and work hard just to acquire the basics, and equally important, I needed someone to teach me. As an adult, I hired a tutor who moved to the United States from Israel, and I went to her home for an hour lesson twice a week. For most people, the best way to learn a language, or most things, for that matter, is to have someone or something to instruct you. God knew that for Israel to be a holy people, they would need instructions and guidance. This was one of the fundamental reasons He gave them the Law of Moses, which served as a guidebook for life. The entire Torah is a holy teaching document that shows ho...

Ask God to Shine His Favor on Your Life!

Image
Ask God to Shine His Favor on Your Life Scripture: Luke 18:41 “What do you want me to do for you?” “Lord, I want to see,” he replied. In Luke 18:41, Jesus asks the question, “What do you want me to do for you?” He asks the same question for us. What would you like Jesus to do for you today? Would you ask him for something that you know is in accordance with his will, something that will echo into eternity? Or would you ask for some perishable item that has no eternal benefit? The Kingdom of God  thinker allows his mind to be transformed through the principles of  SOAK ,  SOW , and  FLOW  so that his life is brought more into conformance with the will of God. This way God can empower and bless his life. His will includes our asking for a spirit of revelation and understanding, having his will become our will, and asking that he will shine with favor on our lives and endeavors for helping in the expansion of his kingdom. Today, ask yourself: Have I made roo...

Keep Your Love Alive Through Trials!

Image
Keep Your Love Alive Through Trials “I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if you find my beloved, as to what you will tell him: For I am lovesick.” — Song of Songs 5:8 Reflection In the Song of Songs, we find the story of a young woman, known as the Shulamite, and her love for her bridegroom. Their relationship presents a spiritual picture of our relationship with Messiah Yeshua. In chapter 5, the woman is searching for her beloved, who seems to have withdrawn from her. As she searches, the watchmen of the city find her, strike her, and take away her shawl. She is suffering, and it seems as if her beloved has forsaken her. She might have been tempted to doubt her Bridegroom King and ask, Does He really love me? Is He really with me anymore? She might have been tempted to become bitter and angry at God. She might have begun to wonder, Is God even real? Does following Him make any difference? But in this moment of deep pain and confusion, she did something extraordinary: she tur...

God Takes the Little and Does Big Things!

Image
God Takes the Little and Does Big Things Scripture: John 6 In John 6 we read about the feeding of the 5000 by Jesus. We learn a tremendous KingdomNomics principle from the small lad in the story who had two small fish and five barley loaves of bread. In verse 9 the disciple Andrew questions how so little could be relevant in feeding a multitude of people. Jesus took what was little or insignificant in the view of the world, and miraculously used it to feed the 5000! What does this say to us? God can take our  time, talent,  and  treasure , even though we think they are small and insignificant, and exponentially multiply them for the advancement of his kingdom in this world. We all want to be “two fish and five loaves people” willing to share so Jesus can do great things through us as we make ourselves available to him. This lad’s life echoes through eternity because he was willing to share what he had as he yielded himself to the purposes of God. Today, ask yoursel...

Walk With God Through Prayer!

Image
Walk With God Through Prayer “For thus the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, has said, ‘In repentance and rest you will be saved, In quietness and trust is your strength.’” — Isaiah 30:15 Reflection Beloved, prayer is a mighty force to be reckoned with. When one of my daughters was away in college, my wife and I went to visit her. We went out to dinner together, and I could tell something was bothering her. So I asked her if she was okay. Her response was disturbing to me. She was afraid that something bad was going to happen to me, that I was going to die that day. This was a real fear for her, and I knew it was coming from the enemy because it was a feeling of dread and gloom. I said, Honey, let’s pray. We joined our hands together, and I prayed. I asked Father to fill her with His love and remove this fear from her. In Jesus’ name, I took a stand against the enemy and took authority over the spirit of fear. We asked Father for His love and protection. Yeshua broke the power of...
