PRAY!

How precious, O God, is your constant love! You are the source of my life. Thank you, Lord God, for your constant love and righteousness. Teach me your ways and to love others as you have loved me. Amen.

God’s Cell Phone #33:3!

Image
God’s Cell Phone #33:3 Scripture: Jeremiah 33:3, John 14:8 “ Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. ” (Jeremiah 33:3) “ I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. ” (John 14:18) These are fantastic promises that God makes to us. As we call on him, he promises to answer us and to show us great and hidden things, particularly the secrets of the kingdom including his great plan of salvation for mankind. All of these things are a process of the Spirit of God’s revelation to us. Jesus himself says that he will come to us and not leave us as orphans. We are fortunate to know this truth. It gives us great comfort as we deal with the ever-changing environment of this world that is in the process of passing away. The Word of God becomes increasingly precious to us as we absorb its living and working power, transforming us more into the likeness of Christ in our outlook regarding this perishing world. As a Kingdom of God t

Our Race Against Time!

Image
Our Race Against Time Scripture: 1 Corinthians 9:24–25 “ Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. ” (1 Corinthians 9:24-25) Whether we realize it or not we are all in a race—a race against time. From an eternal perspective, it is a very short time. “ He remembered that they were but flesh, a passing breeze that does not return. ” (Psalm 78:39) That is a very short time! The problem is we have to figure out what life is all about in that period of time, and make provision for the life in eternity. Whether we like it or not, we are all going to face eternity. In Kingdom of God, we constantly remind ourselves that everything we can see and touch is in the process of perishing. The above passage is a reminder that we are in this race against time, and it is import

Lord Jesus, fill me with compassion and help me to reach out in love to those in need. Teach me to focus on those things that are most important and order my steps this day so that my actions are in accord with your will. Amen.

Your Father's World!

Image
"So don't be afraid, little flock. For it gives your Father great happiness to give you the Kingdom. (Luke 12:32) Your Father's World We knew a very successful widowed man who remarried, and at the age of sixty-five found out they were going to have his first child. When his wife gave birth and he held his baby boy, he was overwhelmed and began to weep for joy. He looked his son in the eyes and said, I can't wait to give you my world. That's the way our heavenly Father feels about you. He's been thinking about you a long time. He didn't create you to be ordinary, to just make it through life. He's lined up amazing opportunities, good breaks, and the right people. He's saying to you, I can't wait to give you My world. His world is big, filled with joy, filled with favor, filled with blessings, and filled with love. In His world, you are His prized possession. What He has in store for you is going to boggle your mind. My question is, are you exp

Giving While We Are Living!

Image
Giving While We Are Living Scripture: Luke 19:5–6 “ And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, ‘Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today.’ So he hurried and came down and received him joyfully. ” (Luke 19:5-6) We learn a lot from the encounter that Zacchaeus had with Jesus Christ. Here was a “money guy” who was hated by his own people because he was a tax collector for the hated Roman government. He was a self-starter, and he really did not care what the crowd thought, otherwise he would not have been a tax collector. He wanted to see Jesus Christ, and he knew he had to get ahead of the crowd. No one ever achieved anything of value just by following the crowd. He was short and needed the aid of a tree perch to see Christ. When he heard the voice of Christ piercing the noise of the crowd, he responded. Note the urgency of this encounter. Jesus told him to “hurry and come down.” Zacchaeus hurried and came down at the command of the Lord.

Will You Wait for Them?

Image
"And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. " (Luke 15:20) Will You Wait for Them? The prodigal son took his father's inheritance and wasted it all on wild living and partying. Yet when he finally came home, notice that his father was waiting for him. Despite what his son had done, I can imagine the father walking to the end of the driveway several times a day and looking for him. And seeing his son, the father ran out and hugged and kissed his son. Then he told his staff to throw a party and celebrate his son's return. Never once did the father bring up the son's faults. He didn't condemn him as undeserving. He was full of compassion, love, and restoring mercy. Sometimes we think we have to tell people everything they're doing wrong and change their mind, but the Holy Spirit is the one who convicts. Our job is to keep loving them when they don't

Peace: A Rare Commodity!

Image
Peace: A Rare Commodity Scripture: 2 Thessalonians 3:16 “ Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. ” (2 Thessalonians 3:16) Peace is a rare commodity in our tumultuous world. Most people would give almost anything in order to experience peace. So many times people look in the wrong places for peace. The Scripture addresses peace in many places. The above passage gives us a good start. We learn that Jesus Christ is the source of peace for the believer. In fact, we are instructed, “ And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. ” (Colossians 3:15–16) Experiencing God’s peace is a CHOICE. We are to let the peace of God rule in our hearts. This is accomplished by being thankful and

Freedom!

Image
"So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound think of it for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?" (Luke 13:16) Freedom This lady who came into the synagogue where Jesus was had been bent over for eighteen years. She had been bound by the enemy for so long that I'm sure she thought it was permanent. When Jesus called her a daughter of Abraham, it meant she was a part of the covenant that God made with Abraham. She wasn't just any woman. She had rights and privileges because she was in the family line of Abraham. As with her, you're not just anyone. You're a child of the Most High God. You have rights because of who you belong to. You weren't created to be bound by sickness, an addiction, or any limitation. Get ready because the chain breaker is about to step in. If Jesus were here today, He would look at you and say, You are loosed from what's holding you back. Your day of freedom has come. The chain

Delight Yourself In God’s Word!

Image
Delight Yourself In God’s Word Scripture: Jeremiah 15:16 and Psalm 37:4 “ When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, Lord God Almighty. ” (Jeremiah 15:16) “ Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. ” (Psalm 37:4, NIV) The Word of God is at the heart of Kingdom of God. Kingdom  of God makes no sense unless it is understood within the context of God’s Word. Both Jeremiah and the Psalmist show us how to position ourselves in relationship to God so God can make himself known to us and actively participate in our lives. Yes, feeding on the Word is critical for this to happen. Jeremiah gives us the “mechanics” for experiencing God in our life. When he found God’s Words, he “ate” them. In other words, he internalized the Word of God by  memorizing and meditating  on it to the point God’s Word became his heart’s delight. We call these passages  spiritual M&Ms , passages of Scripture to  memorize and me

Rise Again!

Image
Though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again. (Proverbs 24:16) Rise Again Very few people can look in the mirror and say, I am good. We think, Not me. I fall short. I struggle in areas. But when you say, I am good, it's not because of who you are; it's because of whose you are. You are a child of the Most High God. He handpicked you, breathed life into you, and crowned you with favor. Don't go around intimidated, insecure, feeling as though you don t measure up. Your performance doesn't determine who you are; your heavenly Father determines who you are. When you fall down and make mistakes, thoughts will whisper, Look at you! You're a hypocrite. Don't live with that heaviness. Just answer back, I may have fallen, but I got back up again. Hold your head up and feel good about who you are. You may not be where you want to be, but you're growing, improving, and coming up higher. Celebrate where you are. Thank God for where He's brought you so fa

3 Ways to Find Peace in Christ!

Image
3 Ways to Find Peace in Christ Scripture: Colossians 3:15 “ And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. ” (Colossians 3:15) Jesus Christ is the source of our peace. He is the fountain of life. As believers, our relationship with him allows us to have access to this peace through  Soak, Sow, and Flow , a process that is a basic principle in Kingdom of God. Paul shows us how this can be done: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him”  (Colossians 3:16–17). These verses encompass all of the steps in the SOAK, SOW, and FLOW principle. First,   the Word of God needs to be filling our lives.  His Word gives life to us as we store it

Don't Go by Your Circumstances!

Image
Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety? (Genesis 17:17) Don't Go by Your Circumstances Sarah was over ninety years old when she gave birth to Isaac. This is way too old in the natural, but we serve a supernatural God. He can make a way where you don't see a way. Don't talk yourself out of your dreams. Don't give up on what God promised you. You can still give birth. You can still meet the right person, still start your own business, still go to college, and still break the addiction. That seed is alive in you. Here's the key: You can't judge what's in you by what's around you. All of Sarah's circumstances said, You'll be barren your whole life. You're too old. No woman your age has babies. It's impossible. If she had believed that lie and let that seed take root, the miracle birth would never have happened. You can draw in the n

The Son Empowers Us to Cast Darkness Aside!

Image
The Son Empowers Us to Cast Darkness Aside Scripture: Judges 5:31 “‘ So may all your enemies perish, Lord! But may all who love you be like the sun when it rises in its strength.’ Then the land had peace forty years. ” (Judges 5:31) Soak your Heart When we experience Christ—the Morning Star—rising in our heart, it feels like the sun when it rises in its full strength. The sun scatters the darkness. When the  Son  rises in our heart, he brings light to our innermost being and empowers us to cast the works of darkness aside. He brings an increasing desire to invest in the imperishable rather than just the perishable. He brings to light a new worldview with a focus on the life to come in the real world of eternity. Sow to the Spirit Pray:   I pray, Father, that the Morning Star will rise in my heart, overcoming any desires that are contrary to your will and best plan for my life. The more I am crucified to my flesh and the lures of this world, the better advertisement I can be to the wo

PRAY!

Loving God, you are always ready to welcome into your kingdom those who have strayed. Thank you for seeking me when I am lost and restoring me to your fold. Your steadfast love revives my soul and fills me with joy. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

3 Ways God Can Work Through Us!

Image
3 Ways God Can Work Through Us Scripture: Isaiah 43:18–19 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. ” (Isaiah 43:18-19) God’s Word is wonderful, telling us continually that he is in the renewal business. It is exciting being a Christian because we anticipate that God will always do something new and exciting in our life. Our responsibility is to place ourselves in a position so God can work through us. How do we do this? First, we need to stop dwelling on the past. When we dwell on the past, it is like trying to drive a car always looking in the rear view mirror. There is nothing we can do about our past except to put aside the parts that pull us down, and to learn not to make the same mistakes in the future. God is always moving. He is in the creation business. He is in the renewal business. “ For we are his workmanship, created in Chri
