The key is our faith. God works through our faith. If you believe little, you’ll receive little. If you think small and talk small, you’ll get stuck where you are.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" /><br style="box-sizing: inherit;" />The Scripture talks about different levels of faith. In Matthew 8, the disciples were in a boat with Jesus when a huge storm arose and the waves swept over the boat. They woke Jesus up and cried out, “We’re about to die!” He responded, “Why do you have such little faith? You’ve seen the miracles I’ve done. You know I can do anything. Why are you still stuck at this low level of faith?” If you’re going to reach the fullness of your destiny, it’s not going to happen with weak faith, doubting faith, or average faith. It’s going to take great faith. The good news is, it’s in you, but you have to awaken your great faith. You have to dare to believe big, to take the limits off.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" /></span></td></tr></tbody></table></td><td style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;" width="30"><img class="CToWUd" data-bit="iit" src="https://ci3.googleusercontent.com/meips/ADKq_NYJCpjNTi5tOmqkXtvlsCW9YOt1i12YorqP4zi2oXro3IzQHaNmO-ROMerBvtqn6rdOuWwr9-YI4LwZQA=s0-d-e1-ft#https://link.lakewood.cc/img/trans.gif" style="box-sizing: inherit; display: block;" width="30" /></td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td bgcolor="#ffffff" class="m_5428877056633020825s4" height="30" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><div style="box-sizing: inherit;"></div></td></tr><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td bgcolor="#ffffff" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="box-sizing: inherit; width: 100%;"><tbody style="box-sizing: inherit;"><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><table align="center" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="m_5428877056633020825fw" style="border-top-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-top-style: solid; border-top-width: 2px; box-sizing: inherit; width: 600px;"><tbody style="box-sizing: inherit;"><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td height="30" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><div style="box-sizing: inherit;"></div></td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td bgcolor="#ffffff" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="box-sizing: inherit; width: 100%;"><tbody style="box-sizing: inherit;"><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;" width="30"><img class="CToWUd" data-bit="iit" src="https://ci3.googleusercontent.com/meips/ADKq_NYJCpjNTi5tOmqkXtvlsCW9YOt1i12YorqP4zi2oXro3IzQHaNmO-ROMerBvtqn6rdOuWwr9-YI4LwZQA=s0-d-e1-ft#https://link.lakewood.cc/img/trans.gif" style="box-sizing: inherit; display: block;" width="30" /></td><td style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="box-sizing: inherit; width: 100%;"><tbody style="box-sizing: inherit;"><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td align="left" class="m_5428877056633020825lh m_5428877056633020825la3" style="box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 1.2; margin: 0px;"><span class="m_5428877056633020825ff m_5428877056633020825fs24 m_5428877056633020825fc3 m_5428877056633020825fwn m_5428877056633020825h2" face="museo-sans, sans-serif" style="box-sizing: inherit; color: #345161; font-size: 24px; line-height: 1.2;">A Prayer for Today</span></td></tr><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td class="m_5428877056633020825s2" height="20" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><div style="box-sizing: inherit;"></div></td></tr><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td align="left" class="m_5428877056633020825lh15p m_5428877056633020825la1u" style="box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 1.5; margin: 0px;"><span class="m_5428877056633020825ff2 m_5428877056633020825fs16 m_5428877056633020825fc1 m_5428877056633020825fwn m_5428877056633020825gf" style="box-sizing: inherit; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5;"><em style="box-sizing: inherit;">“Father, thank You that You bring obstacles across my path so big that only You can make it happen. line-height: 1.5;">When God brought the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt, He told them that they would make it into the Promised Land, but along the way through the wilderness they had delays, setbacks, and opposition. They got discouraged and started complaining. “What are we going to eat? How are we going to survive? The people in the land look like giants. We don’t have a chance.” The whole time, God was whispering, “I’m in control. I have provision for every season. I’ll defeat those enemies for you.” But they let the doubt and what they saw talk them out of what God promised. They limited God, and that generation never went in.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" /><br style="box-sizing: inherit;" />What we do in the face of doubt and negative voices telling us God’s promises are not going to work out will determine whether we see the fullness of our destiny. God allows us to be in situations and puts things in our spirit that are too big for us to work out on our own. Let what God says override the doubt, and believe that it’s still going to happen.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" /></span></td></tr></tbody></table></td><td style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;" width="30"><img class="CToWUd" data-bit="iit" src="https://ci3.googleusercontent.com/meips/ADKq_NYJCpjNTi5tOmqkXtvlsCW9YOt1i12YorqP4zi2oXro3IzQHaNmO-ROMerBvtqn6rdOuWwr9-YI4LwZQA=s0-d-e1-ft#https://link.lakewood.cc/img/trans.gif" style="box-sizing: inherit; display: block;" width="30" /></td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td bgcolor="#ffffff" class="m_3017099636067450978s4" height="30" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><div style="box-sizing: inherit;"></div></td></tr><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td bgcolor="#ffffff" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="box-sizing: inherit; width: 100%;"><tbody style="box-sizing: inherit;"><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><table align="center" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="m_3017099636067450978fw" style="border-top-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-top-style: solid; border-top-width: 2px; box-sizing: inherit; width: 600px;"><tbody style="box-sizing: inherit;"><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td height="30" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><div style="box-sizing: inherit;"></div></td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td bgcolor="#ffffff" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="box-sizing: inherit; width: 100%;"><tbody style="box-sizing: inherit;"><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;" width="30"><img class="CToWUd" data-bit="iit" src="https://ci3.googleusercontent.com/meips/ADKq_NYJCpjNTi5tOmqkXtvlsCW9YOt1i12YorqP4zi2oXro3IzQHaNmO-ROMerBvtqn6rdOuWwr9-YI4LwZQA=s0-d-e1-ft#https://link.lakewood.cc/img/trans.gif" style="box-sizing: inherit; display: block;" width="30" /></td><td style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="box-sizing: inherit; width: 100%;"><tbody style="box-sizing: inherit;"><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td align="left" class="m_3017099636067450978lh m_3017099636067450978la3" style="box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 1.2; margin: 0px;"><span class="m_3017099636067450978ff m_3017099636067450978fs24 m_3017099636067450978fc3 m_3017099636067450978fwn m_3017099636067450978h2" face="museo-sans, sans-serif" style="box-sizing: inherit; color: #345161; font-size: 24px; line-height: 1.2;">A Prayer for Today</span></td></tr><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td class="m_3017099636067450978s2" height="20" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><div style="box-sizing: inherit;"></div></td></tr><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td align="left" class="m_3017099636067450978lh15p m_3017099636067450978la1u" style="box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 1.5; margin: 0px;"><span class="m_3017099636067450978ff2 m_3017099636067450978fs16 m_3017099636067450978fc1 m_3017099636067450978fwn m_3017099636067450978gf" style="box-sizing: inherit; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5;"><em style="box-sizing: inherit;">“Father, thank You that You are the Holy One of Israel, and You are not limited by what limits me. Our joy is always in the future, when we cross another finish line, so we’re always rushing to the next thing. The problem is there’s always something that keeps us upset. The enemy would love to deceive us into enduring life but not enjoying life. Having children but not enjoying them. Being married but unhappy about our spouse’s flaws. Having a house, a job, and opportunities, but always having some reason we’re not happy.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" /><br style="box-sizing: inherit;" />The key is to find joy in the journey. You’re not there yet, you’re still waiting for things to improve, still believing for that promise, but in the meantime you’re enjoying where you are while you’re on the way to where you’re going. You can do that because the Scripture says that the joy of the Lord, the joy He puts in your heart, is your strength. font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5;">We all have times when our hearts are heavy through a loss, a bad medical report, or being mistreated on the job. It can feel as though the pain will never change. But today’s Scripture says that even when your heart is heavy, you’re going to come home laughing, with armloads of blessing. God is going to bring you out of that trouble better than you were before.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" /><br style="box-sizing: inherit;" />Today, you may be carrying burdens, carrying sorrow, carrying pain, but God is about to do an exchange. Instead of carrying the sorrow, how about carrying joy? Instead of carrying the hurt and loneliness from a divorce, how about having someone great walk into your life? Now you’re laughing, now you’re dreaming, living a victorious life. That’s how good God is. Instead of keeping your mind stayed on your problems, on doubt, or on worry, keep it stayed on what God has promised you.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" /><br style="box-sizing: inherit;" />Here’s the simple principle: When a negative thought comes, erase it and replace it with a positive, faith-filled thought from God’s Word. Her estimate of what his life would be like was very low. But despite that negative label, he had the boldness to ask big, that God would bless him with abundance and protection, which God did.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" /><br style="box-sizing: inherit;" />We all face times when the dream seems too great, the problem too strong, the opposition too powerful. People rule us out and say, “It’s never going to happen. You don’t have the resources or come from the right family. The medical report is not good.” All the facts say, “It’s impossible,” but God will have you underestimated on purpose. When it seems the least likely, as with Jabez, that’s when He shows up the greatest. Don’t get discouraged when you’re underestimated; it’s a setup. I feel as if I’m going through labor pains for you again, and they will continue until Christ is fully developed in your lives.</em>”</p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;">Paul went to great pains to say that the ultimate goal is to have the person of Jesus Christ formed in us. We need to realize what it means for Christ to live in and through us—to invite the Spirit of Christ to work as he reveals himself to us.</p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;"><span id="more-2354" style="box-sizing: inherit;"></span></p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;">This is a lifelong process; I have yet to realize major aspects of this objective. However, I know that God wants to become more fully developed in my life and in the lives of other believers. So let’s learn together what is involved.</p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;">One of the first truths to realize, believe, and trust in is this fact:</p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;">“<em style="box-sizing: inherit;">For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.</em>” (Colossians 2:9–10)</p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;">Jesus Christ is inside the believer. We are complete in him. He is the one who is the source of life that is now lived through us.</p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;">“<em style="box-sizing: inherit;">My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.</em>” (Galatians 2:20)</p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;">“<em style="box-sizing: inherit;">So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.</em>” (Romans 6:11)</p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;">Christ can live through us as we reckon our old self DEAD to sin. The old self is still there, but we are no longer obliged to let it rule over us:</p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;">“<em style="box-sizing: inherit;">Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live.</em>” (Romans 8:12–13)</p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;">Try placing your name in these verses to make them personally applicable to you. Where it says “I” “self” “me” “you” etc. substitute your name. That will make a tremendous difference in how you read these and other verses.</p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;">If we hope for these Scripture passages to become part of our daily experience, we need to <strong style="box-sizing: inherit;">accept, by faith, the truths stated in them. </strong></p><h2 style="box-sizing: inherit; color: #062869; font-family: ralewayregular; font-size: 30px; line-height: 1.2; margin: 40px 0px 20px;">Today, ask yourself:</h2><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;"><em style="box-sizing: inherit;">Do I believe that my old self was crucified with Christ on the cross? There are the constant demands of work, family, the maintenance of the house, and friends who are counting on us. We develop a hero mentality where we can’t let anyone down. We always have to be strong, always come through, cheer everyone else up, fix the problems, and stay late.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" /><br style="box-sizing: inherit;" />We’re doing all these good things to try to keep everyone around us happy. The problem is that we can become depleted, drained, worn-out. We’re making sure everyone else is a priority, but we need to make ourself a priority. Your first mission is to keep yourself healthy—emotionally, physically, and spiritually. It’s not selfish to take time to get refreshed, to be reenergized. You shouldn’t be so busy that you don’t have time to be alone, to laugh, to exercise, and for recreation. Our God delights to give you rest and to help you stay in balance.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" /></span></td></tr></tbody></table></td><td style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;" width="30"><img class="CToWUd" data-bit="iit" src="https://ci3.googleusercontent.com/meips/ADKq_NYJCpjNTi5tOmqkXtvlsCW9YOt1i12YorqP4zi2oXro3IzQHaNmO-ROMerBvtqn6rdOuWwr9-YI4LwZQA=s0-d-e1-ft#https://link.lakewood.cc/img/trans.gif" style="box-sizing: inherit; display: block;" width="30" /></td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td bgcolor="#ffffff" class="m_-1532622256242248953s4" height="30" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><div style="box-sizing: inherit;"></div></td></tr><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td bgcolor="#ffffff" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="box-sizing: inherit; width: 100%;"><tbody style="box-sizing: inherit;"><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><table align="center" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="m_-1532622256242248953fw" style="border-top-color: rgb(204, 204, 204); border-top-style: solid; border-top-width: 2px; box-sizing: inherit; width: 600px;"><tbody style="box-sizing: inherit;"><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td height="30" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><div style="box-sizing: inherit;"></div></td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td bgcolor="#ffffff" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="box-sizing: inherit; width: 100%;"><tbody style="box-sizing: inherit;"><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;" width="30"><img class="CToWUd" data-bit="iit" src="https://ci3.googleusercontent.com/meips/ADKq_NYJCpjNTi5tOmqkXtvlsCW9YOt1i12YorqP4zi2oXro3IzQHaNmO-ROMerBvtqn6rdOuWwr9-YI4LwZQA=s0-d-e1-ft#https://link.lakewood.cc/img/trans.gif" style="box-sizing: inherit; display: block;" width="30" /></td><td style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="box-sizing: inherit; width: 100%;"><tbody style="box-sizing: inherit;"><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td align="left" class="m_-1532622256242248953lh m_-1532622256242248953la3" style="box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 1.2; margin: 0px;"><span class="m_-1532622256242248953ff m_-1532622256242248953fs24 m_-1532622256242248953fc3 m_-1532622256242248953fwn m_-1532622256242248953h2" style="box-sizing: inherit; color: #345161; font-family: museo-sans, sans-serif; font-size: 24px; line-height: 1.2;">A Prayer for Today</span></td></tr><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td class="m_-1532622256242248953s2" height="20" style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px;"><div style="box-sizing: inherit;"></div></td></tr><tr style="box-sizing: inherit;"><td align="left" class="m_-1532622256242248953lh15p m_-1532622256242248953la1u" style="box-sizing: inherit; line-height: 1.5; margin: 0px;"><span class="m_-1532622256242248953ff2 m_-1532622256242248953fs16 m_-1532622256242248953fc1 m_-1532622256242248953fwn m_-1532622256242248953gf" style="box-sizing: inherit; font-size: 16px; line-height: 1.5;"><em style="box-sizing: inherit;">“Father, thank You for giving me my body to live in and to care for as a temple of Your Spirit. font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 0.911719rem; line-height: 1.5;">When you pray, you can know that you have your requests. When you believe and receive your healing, or the promotion, or the freedom, things begin to happen in the unseen realm. But if the answer is always in your future, you haven’t received it in your spirit. What God is going to bring to pass is not what you ask for, but what you believe you receive when you pray. Are you receiving when you’re believing? Do you know that you have your request? It’s not just, “God, I’m asking You to help me break this addiction.” That’s good, but by itself it’s not enough. Follow it up with: “Lord, I receive my freedom. Thank You that I am free from this addiction now—not that I’m going to be free one day. No, I have my request now.” When you prayed, you not only believed it, but you received it. Please do something.” That prayer needs to go to Urgent Care; that prayer is on its last leg. Try a different approach; try a bold prayer. “God, there’s a lot coming against me, but I know nothing is too big for You. Thank You that the blessings You have for me are so great they will overflow to those around me.” That’s a healthy prayer. That gets God’s attention. He responds to faith-filled prayers.<br style="box-sizing: inherit;" /><br style="box-sizing: inherit;" />Are you praying bold prayers? Are you asking God to turn situations around that look impossible? How many miracles are you missing because you’re not asking? Dare to ask, not just for your needs, but for others to be blessed through you. Ask for the big things God’s put in your heart. It is the person of Jesus Christ. Attributes include righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.</p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;">Eating and drinking are “external factors”—perishing activities that feed a perishing physical body. They are among the things we can see. The internal workings of the Spirit are eternal, unseen except as they are reflected in our behavior. These attributes are part of the divine character God wants to work out in us.</p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;"><span id="more-2366" style="box-sizing: inherit;"></span></p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;">Paul prayed, “<em style="box-sizing: inherit;">May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.</em>” (Romans 15:13)</p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;">This “overflowing” is God working in us in response to our placing our trust and faith in him. By the power of the Spirit we can overflow with hope.</p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;">Our circumstances are always changing. My mother once said, “The picture changes.” For most of us the picture of our circumstances changes daily. One day it is sunny. Other days it rains. Only the Holy Spirit can produce the hope that anchors our soul.</p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;">My mother also said, “This too will pass.” Nothing is permanent in this temporary world.</p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;">We have to realize just what kind of a world we are presently living in:</p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;">“…<em style="box-sizing: inherit;">For the form of this world is passing away.</em>” (1 Corinthians 7:31)</p><p style="box-sizing: inherit; margin: 0px 0px 30px; padding: 0px;">“<em style="box-sizing: inherit;">That is why we never give up. This is one of the major reasons we need to be in constant communion with the Holy Spirit. He gives us the spiritual empowerment, life, and hope that enables us to live in this environment held under the sway of the evil one. Usually, we ride on the bumper cars that had large rubber rings around them to protect the drivers. The “fun” was trying to bump the other cars. Sometimes people would hit us too hard.
