Love Covers!

Image
Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. (1 Peter 4:8) Love Covers In relationships, we all have disagreements, tension, and stress. When we do, we need to step back and remember that love makes allowances for other people’s weaknesses. Love covers a wrong done to it. You have to rise above these petty things that are pulling you apart. Give people room to have a bad day. When they’re rude, don’t respond. Be an eagle and rise above it. Life is too short for you to live at odds, being contentious, arguing over things that don’t matter. Some people have to have the last word in every argument. Don’t be hardheaded. Let it go. Quit wasting your energy. You have a destiny to fulfill. You have an assignment to accomplish. Those are distractions trying to pull you off course. Zip it up and let the other person be right. You may know they’re wrong, but it doesn’t matter. Don’t waste your valuable time on something that’s not movin

The Path to Personal Peace!!

Image
The Path to Personal Peace, Part 1 “ Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. ” (Philippians 4:9) What an example to follow! How many people could make that statement about themselves? Just put into practice what you have seen and heard from Jesus, and you will experience peace. Peace is a rare commodity. People spend billions to find peace through drugs, alcohol, pleasure, and other experiences. Paul shows us the only way to true peace. Peace is sourced in the person of Jesus Christ. Peace comes from God: “ Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. ” (John 14:27) Paul, who experienced much tribulation, shows us how to tap into the source of this peace. Only people who have a personal relationship with Christ can experience what he is telling us. So what can we learn, receive, and see in the life

Rest from Your Enemies!

Image
He removed the foreign altars and the high places, smashed the sacred stones and cut down the Asherah poles... No one was at war with him during those years, for the LORD gave him rest. (2 Chronicles 14:3, 6) Rest from Your Enemies King Asa of Judah inherited a kingdom that was filled with idolatry. His father had passed down compromise, mediocrity, and dysfunction. But Asa understood that just because something negative is passed down doesn’t mean you have to continue it and let it limit your life. He smashed the pagan shrines and altars, and because of it, the Lord gave him rest from his enemies. If you want rest from that bad attitude, that addiction, or that low self-esteem that most likely was passed down to you, you have get rid of it. Be an Asa and say, “I’m not going to let this anger rule my life. I’m going to pull that stronghold down and smash it. I’m not going to put up with this anxiety and insecurity. I’m removing these limitations. I’m living in peace. I’m going to enj

The Path to Personal Peace!

The Path to Personal Peace, Part 2 “ For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. ” (2 Corinthians 10:3–5) It is necessary to have the Spirit of God working in us because we are fighting principalities, authorities, powers, cosmic forces, and spiritual wickedness that seek to destroy us. A battle rages for the control of our mind. We know that whoever or whatever controls our mind controls us. Paul and other Bible greats give us the answer so we can begin to experience “ …triumph in Christ… and the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. ” (2 Corinthians 2:14) It takes mental discipline and practice to experience inner peace. First , we need to ask the Holy Spirit to control our mind to focus it properly: “

Be Filled with Good Things!

Image
He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! (Psalm 103:5) Be Filled with Good Things The reason some people aren’t young and strong in their spirit and vibrant and passionate about life is that there’s no room for God to fill them with good things. All the space is taken up with negatives. Worry will make you weak. Living stressed out will make you old and take your passion. Being bitter, angry, and resentful will shorten your life. Is God trying to fill you with joy, confidence, and creativity, but there’s no room? If you empty out the negative, God will have room to fill your life with good things. Instead of hanging on to bitterness after someone does you wrong, say, “God, I forgive them. I let it go.” You didn’t just forgive; you made room for God to give you beauty for ashes. When you empty out worry, you’ll have peace in the midst of the storm. Empty out discouragement, and He’ll fill you with joy. He’ll fill you with good things. A Prayer For Today

Be a Converterlator!

Image
Be a Converterlator “ Here’s the lesson: Use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends. Then, when your earthly possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home. ” (Luke 16:9) In Kingdom of God one of the things we have emphasized is that we are engaged in leveraging the perishable into the imperishable. We are agents of change—transformers who are experiencing an earthly life now that will also echo into eternity. We have developed a “new word” with its various renditions to describe what we are doing: CONVERTERLATORS. We are CONVERTERLATORS, people who are converting the perishable into the imperishable. If you are a CONVERTERLATOR, you are an agent engaged in “CONVERTERLATING” for bringing about change. The Apostle Paul, who was a CONVERTERLATOR, is a great example for us to follow in using any and all means available for advancing the kingdom of God. Luke 16:9 is a CONVERTERLATOR verse. It is an example of God instructing us to be wise in the use of

PRAY!

Image
Lord God, sometimes it is hard for me to remain calm when I am involved in situations that cause me to become angry. In such times, fill me with your wisdom and teach me patience so that the words I speak may bring about healing and a peaceful resolution. Amen.

Do Not Be a Consumerlator!

Image
Do Not Be a Consumerlator “ Demas has deserted me because he loves the things of this life and has gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, and Titus has gone to Dalmatia. ” (2 Timothy 4:10) Demas deserted Paul because loved the temporary perishing things of this life more than the eternal aspects of life promoted by the gospel. Being actively involved as a  CONVERTERLATOR  is one of the best protections against falling into the plight of Demas. This brings another new word to be aware of as we navigate our way through this world: CONSUMERLATOR. A CONSUMERLATOR is an agent or modality that is engaged in stealing, killing, and destroying our opportunities to CONVERTERLATE our perishable time, talents, and treasures into the imperishable values that will last for eternity. Demas was a CONSUMERLATOR because he was apparently unwilling to defer experiencing some temporary pleasures of this world in order to accumulate treasure in heaven. We are facing eternity. As Christians w

The Battle: Converterlator vs. Consumerlator!

Image
The Battle: Converterlator vs. Consumerlator “ There were two hundred leaders from Issachar. They knew what Israel should do, and they knew the right time to do it. ” (1 Chronicles 12:32) “ Listen, I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. So be as clever as snakes and as innocent as doves. ” (Matthew 10:16) We find ourselves in a world filled with all kinds of conflict. Conflict rages in both the seen and unseen realms. Secular forces battle spiritual forces all the time, but we often are only able to see the partial results of the battle. Individually, we all face battles of various kinds, including physical, material, spiritual, emotional, and mental stresses. Human casualties are abundant. But the Word of God gives us the hope, power, guidance, and instruments needed to fight these secular and spiritual battles. “ The Lord says, ‘I will make you wise and show you where to go. I will guide you and watch over you.’  ” (Psalm 32:8) God tells us how he will make us like the sons

PRAY!

Image
Dear God, I yearn to do what pleases you, but sometimes I fall short. Yet you continue to love and bless me. Daily I need to be reconciled and restored to you. Forgive my shortcomings and, as you have blessed me, teach me to be a blessing to others through my words and actions. Amen.

When Offenses Come!

Image
“Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come…” (Matthew 18:7) When Offenses Come Today’s Scripture says offenses and betrayals will come—loss, bad breaks, things we don’t understand. It’s painful enough when it happens, but if you make the mistake of going around feeding the hurt, feeding the offense, you’re giving life to bitterness, resentment, and discouragement. Don’t feed the self-pity or what didn’t work out. Don’t relive the hurts. You can’t feed your history and feed your destiny at the same time. What’s happened to you is over and done. Quit thinking about how you were raised, what you didn’t get, who hurt you, who you lost—that’s history, that’s behind you. You have to starve the doubts, starve the negative comments people have spoken over you, starve the guilt and condemnation. You can’t go into a new season if you’re always looking back at the old. Now do your part and keep feeding your faith, your hopes, your dreams, and you

The Compass of Life!

Image
The Compass of Life “ He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but whoever walks wisely will be delivered. ” (Proverbs 28:26) “ In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes. ” (Judges 21:25) Our point of reference is critical in becoming a  CONVERTERLATOR . The above verses summarize what is wrong in our world: People refuse to acknowledge God and instead trust in their own hearts. To do so is to make oneself a fool. People do whatever they think is right in their own eyes. They think that no one, including God, is going to tell them what to do. We see the evidence of this foolishness on the evening news. Many Christians drift away from their mission. They fail to do what the Psalmist did:  “ I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. ” (Psalm 16:8) Many have fallen into the trap of the  CONSUMERLATOR  and follow the world and its wisdom. “ However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, y

Connect with the Right People!

Image
A shout for help brought their partners in the other boat, and soon both boats were filled with fish and on the verge of sinking. (Luke 5:7,) Connect with the Right People In today’s Scripture, because Peter obeyed Jesus’ instructions to try again after having fished all night and caught nothing, he was blessed with favor and caught so many fish that his net began to tear. But notice that he had so many fish that his partner’s boat was also full of fish. When you’re connected to someone who’s favored, as they increase, you will increase from their overflow. There are blessings that belong to you that are attached to people whom God has put in your life. If you’re not seeing any fish, evaluate whom you’re connected to. You need to disconnect from relationships that are not producing any increase and connect with people who are seeing favor. You need people who are taking new ground, who think and dream bigger than you, and who will expand your vision and thinking for the new things Go

Going, Going, Gone!

Image
Going, Going, Gone! “ Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. ” (Mark 13:31) This is an incredible statement! Everything is ultimately going to pass away. Our time, talents, and treasures will expire when we do. They will do us no good in eternity. We must use them while we are on this side of eternity. We are like the shopper who has won a contest and is allowed to buy as many groceries as she can within a short period of time. When the time expires, the shopping spree ends. However, according to the Bible, we know that the Word of God will never pass away and that the soul of each person is going to exist forever in either heaven or hell. The soul going to heaven will spend eternity based on how his time, talents, and treasures were spent on earth. This is why Kingdom of God is concerned with the brevity of life. The Bible comments extensively on life and how short it is. “ He remembered that they were but flesh, a passing breeze that does not return. ”

Count it All Joy!

Image
Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. (James 1:2–3) Count it All Joy We’d love to not have any pain, suffering, bad breaks, betrayals, or loss, but that’s not reality. Difficulties will come, and pain is a part of life, so keep the right perspective: there is purpose in your pain. If everything were always easy, we wouldn’t be prepared for our destiny. In the tough, dark times, God is getting you prepared. He knows exactly what you need and when you need it. Every struggle is making you stronger. Every difficulty is growing you up. You may not like it, but every painful season is developing something in you that can be developed only in the tough times. That difficulty is an opportunity to develop character, to gain a greater trust in God. If God allowed it, He knows how to bring good out of it. Don’t just go through it; grow through it and keep a good attitude. Count it all joy, knowing that this pain is going t
