  Follow the Footsteps Scripture: Luke 19:13, NIV “So he called ten of his servants and gave them ten minas. ‘Put this money to work,’ he said, ‘until I come back.’ ” Some say we should redeem time, because time is short. The secular world often says that “time is money,” so be busy making money with the time you have. In the above passage the servants are told to put the master’s money to work until he returns. The master was saying he would return and would want a report or an accounting of what was done with his money. Jesus Christ said a lot about work when he was in this world. He was in the world for a purpose: “ ‘My food,’ said Jesus, ‘is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.’ ”  (John 4:34, NIV) “For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.” (John 6:38, NIV) “And He said to them, ‘Why did you seek Me?   The LORD will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. Deuteronomy 28:8, NIV Everything You Put Your Hand To The blessing is an anointing on your life, which means God has marked you or set you apart. You are marked for favor—that’s where people are good to you and don’t even know why, where doors open that weren’t supposed to open, where you get promoted when you weren’t the next in line. You are marked for opportunity to come looking for you. You’re marked to excel in whatever environment you’re in—whether people are for you or against you, whether the economy is up or down, whether you’re getting good breaks or doors have closed. The blessing is the reason you keep rising up when circumstances try to keep you down. The blessing doesn’t stop the adversity, but it causes you to triumph in the trouble.   Feed Your Soul Scripture: 1 Corinthians 3:6–7 “I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.” (ESV) Proper growth only comes from God. As we grow in Christ, our focus becomes sharper with a greater comprehension of what Christ wants us to do in this world. We also want to make sure that any “growth” we experience is growth sourced in God. The proper place to start the growth process is stated by Peter,  “As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.”  (1 Peter 2:2, NKJV) Without proper nourishment, we cannot grow.   Be on the Lookout Scripture: Revelation 22:20 “He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming quickly.’ Amen. Scripture emphasizes the brevity of life many times:  “And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.”  (Romans 13:11–12, NKJV) This is an exhortation we had better listen to in order to be prepared! Are You a Pen Filled With Ink? Scripture: Psalm 45:1, ESV “ My heart overflows with a pleasing theme; I address my verses to the king; my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe. ” (Psalm 45:1, ESV) We use this key verse in KingdomNomics to help us with the concepts of SOAK, SOW, and FLOW. As we soak our heart in the Word of God and recite our verses to the King, the Spirit causes our heart to overflow with spiritual nourishment. This discipline strengthens our inner person so Christ can prompt us to help continue his ministry in this world. Let’s focus on the word “pen” mentioned in the verse. You and I are like pens. A pen is an instrument used to communicate a message to others. Without ink, the pen is useless. The Spirit can be like the ink needed for a pen to function. In order for us to be “pens” or instruments God can use to continue “writing his story” to this generation, we need to be filled with the ink of the Holy Spirit. Too many of us think of Him like we think of our human parents who may not have been there for us, who made mistakes and may not have believed in us. That is not your heavenly Father. Your gifts, your talents, your greatness don’t come from your family; they come from Him. When He breathed life into you, He put His spiritual DNA inside.   Are you Kingdom Employed? Scripture: Joshua 13:1, ESV “ Now Joshua was old and advanced in years, and the Lord said to him, “You are old and advanced in years, and there remains yet very much land to possess. ” (Joshua 13:1, ESV) The words still apply today: “…and there remains yet very much land to possess.” Many people have not had the opportunity to respond to Jesus Christ. It is the responsibility of each generation to use the means at our disposal to reach others for Christ. We have a lot of work to do. We also have work to do related to our inner person. We need to be rooted and grounded in the love of Christ, strengthened and filled with the Holy Spirit as we navigate through life.   “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33 What Are You Seeking? In Luke 5, when Peter obeyed Jesus’ word to let down his nets even though he’d fished all night and caught nothing, his nets began to break from such a large number of fish. Realizing who Jesus was and the miracle that had happened, Peter fell at Jesus’ knees in worship. Even though the catch was very valuable and could have been Peter’s focus, Peter showed by his actions that he was more interested in Jesus than success. He recognized the source of all good things was in his boat and that the goal was not the fish but to fulfill his purpose as a servant of the Most High God. God has exactly what you need for each season of your life. If you keep God first place, He’ll add everything you need. The psalmist says, “Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing” (Psalm 34:10).
