It’s Not Just for You!

Image
Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants!” Daniel 3:28 It’s Not Just for You In Daniel 3, when three Hebrew teenagers wouldn’t bow to King Nebuchadnezzar’s golden idol, they were thrown into a fiery furnace. They should have perished instantly, but they were miraculously spared. After the teenagers came out unharmed, King Nebuchadnezzar, who had been against them and everything they stood for, was giving God praise. Why? God displayed awesome power through those teenagers so other people would be changed. That’s what God is going to do for you. You can try to convince some people about your faith, debate with them, but words don’t always affect people. He’s going to open doors you can’t open, thrust you to new levels, and cause you to overcome what looks impossible so they will know the Lord is on your side. God is not going to do this all in private. He’s going to give you a public sign, someth

Good Works do Not Save Us. We are Saved to Do Good Works!

Image
Good Works do Not Save Us. We are Saved to Do Good Works “ Jesus Christ gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. ” (Titus 2:14) We have been saved to do good works. Let’s be very clear about this.  Good works do not save us. We are not saved “ by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. ” (Titus 3:5–7) The work of salvation has been done by the Lord Jesus Christ himself. We are justified (made acceptable to God) by receiving as a  gift  the salvation he has provided through Christ. However, we are saved to do the good works he has appointed for us. “ This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to af

Give Honor!

Image
Give to everyone what you owe them...if honor, then honor. Romans 13:7 Give Honor In the Old Testament, God commanded His people to put down “memorial stones” as reminders of past national victories. Every time they or future generations passed by a memorial, they would remember the mighty things God had done and honor the people who gave their lives for others. All throughout the Scripture, we see that God blesses an attitude of honor. To show honor simply means that you give respect and recognition to others with your attitude, actions, and words. Today, as a time when we honor all the brave men and women who have given their lives in service for our country. As we remember them, let’s honor the gift of freedom they have given us by saying thank you with our actions and choosing to love and honor others. Let’s also honor all those who are serving in our armed forces and their families who are sacrificing so much today. Let’s pray for God’s peace, protection, and provision over ever

What it Means to ‘Adorn the Doctrine of God’!

Image
What it Means to ‘Adorn the Doctrine of God’ “ …Not pilfering, but showing all good faith, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior. ” (Titus 2:10) True faith is having a relationship with God through the person of Jesus Christ. Christianity is not a list of  do s and  don’t s or an intellectual belief in the tenets of the Christian faith. We have been born again to a living hope – a relationship with the risen Savior who lives in and through the life of the believer. That being the case, Scripture exhorts us to be good examples of what we proclaim: “ Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel. ” (Philippians 1:27) Our daily conduct cannot contradict what we say we believe in. We live in a difficult environment, and it is critical we work at avoiding every form of ev

What is Written on the Tablet of Your Heart?!

Image
What is Written on the Tablet of Your Heart? “ Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart, and so find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man. ” (Proverbs 3:3–4) Have you ever thought about what is written on the tablet of your heart? In Kingdom of God, we stress the importance of soaking the heart in the Word of God. The heart is like a sponge; it soaks up whatever is around it. Whatever we soak it in becomes the treasure of our heart. If the water is dirty, then the treasure is dirty. If the water is clear and pure, then the treasure of the heart will be pure and clear. The Word confirms this: “ A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. ” (Luke 6:45) What is the “abundance” found in your heart? Whatever it is will manifest itself in your life. People will be

Pray for the Favor of God to Rest on You!

Image
Pray for the Favor of God to Rest on You “ May the favor of the Lord o ur God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands. ” (Psalm 90:17) Our relationship with God through Christ means LIFE, FAVOR, and REWARD! We all want to experience a full and meaningful life. The Scripture tells us we can experience the favor of God if we establish the right kind of relationship with him. He also tells us about rewards that can come from such a relationship. Those who practice Kingdom of God and become yield-active  converterlators  (converting our perishable time, talent, and treasure in to the imperishable values of the Kingdom), have discovered this great secret of the kingdom. We have found life, favor, and reward already. And we are anticipating much more in the life to come. Therefore, we pray that the favor of God will rest on us. Power belongs to God. He is the one who can change circumstances. He is the one who can open doors. He is the one wh

Ignore Distractions!

Image
And they regarded Saul with contempt and did not bring him a gift. But he ignored the insult and kept silent. 1 Samuel 10:27 Ignore Distractions In 1 Samuel 10, after Saul was chosen to be the first king of Israel, most of the people were happy and congratulated him. But when Saul went back home, some of the people spoke of him with contempt and despised him. They said he didn’t have what it took to be king, and they tried to push him down. Saul refused to waste his time with these small-minded people who didn’t value who he was or respect the talent and favor on his life. He simply chose to ignore them. If you’re going to reach your destiny, you have to get good at ignoring negative comments, criticism, insults, and naysayers. They don’t control your destiny. They are distractions to try to keep you from God’s best. Instead of being upset over who’s not for you and frustrated over who’s trying to make you look bad, ignore them. Jealous people can’t keep you from your destiny. Small-

Jesus is the Best Friend You Can Ever Have!

Image
Jesus is the Best Friend You Can Ever Have “ Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. ” (Revelation 3:20) In Kingdom of God, we focus on our relationship with God. This verse from Revelation tells us how Jesus Christ desires to get to know us, much like a friend we would invite to join us for dinner. “ Jesus replied, ‘All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them.’”  (John 14:23) When someone makes their home with you, that is about as intimate a relationship as we can have. Not only is Jesus with us individually, but he is with us when we are gathered together as believers: “ For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”  (Matthew 18:20) That is relationship. One reason God wants us to have a relationship with him is so we can also have a proper relationship with other people. “ But if

Freedom Plus!

Image
…and brought his people safely out from Egypt, loaded with silver and gold; there were no sick and feeble folk among them then. Psalm 105:37 Freedom Plus The Israelites were in slavery for hundreds of years in Egypt. They were mistreated and taken advantage of. But God supernaturally brought them out. As they were leaving, the people who had oppressed them for all those years gave them gold, silver, and clothing. They didn’t leave looking like what they had been through as slaves, but they were loaded down with gifts. Remarkably, today’s Scripture says “there were no sick or feeble ones among them,” yet they hadn’t had pharmacies or hospitals. And through the forty years of the wilderness wanderings, their clothes and shoes didn’t wear out. Nobody could tell they had been enslaved. Why? When God restores, there is no sign of what you’ve been through. You may have been a slave to addictions, to depression, to fear, to lack. It’s been in your family line for generations, but your days

Play to An Audience of One!

Image
Play to An Audience of One “ For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, nor did their own arm save them; but it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, because You favored them. ” (Psalm 44:3) The world elevates people whom it proclaims are self-made individuals. Many of these people bask in the glory given to them by the world. But in reality, all life is sourced by God. In the verse from Psalm 44:3, the Lord made it perfectly clear that possession did not come by their own sword or by their own arm. The possession of the land was brought about by the right hand of the Lord, his arm, and the light of his countenance. He favored them! In the same manner, believers are not self-sufficient people who can claim any of our “successes” as being of our own making. Any glory should go only to God. This principle is proclaimed throughout Scripture. The blessing of the Lord is responsible for what we have. It is the Lord who has given people who

With All Your Heart!

Image
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13 With All Your Heart God says that He is looking for passionate people, people who are full of praise, people who seek Him with all their heart, not half. He’s talking about people who worship Him in spirit and truth, who are expecting to find Him and His favor. You can’t be indifferent, lethargic, and passive in seeking Him or in reaching your potential. You have to have some fire in you. Don’t let what didn’t work out, the disappointments, or the bad breaks cause you to become half-hearted in your praise, half-hearted in your marriage, or half-hearted at work. That’s why you have to stir up your heart. You’re not going to wake up every morning excited about seeking God and reading His Word or enthusiastic about your dreams. You’re going to have to do as David did and say, “This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it. With my whole heart I will seek You.” If you keep seeking Hi

Fix Your Eyes on Christ, Not on the Problem!

Image
Fix Your Eyes on Christ, Not on the Problem “… Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. ” (Hebrews 12:2) One of the most difficult lessons we, as believers, must learn is how to fix our eyes on Jesus Christ instead of focusing on the problems and challenges we face. Fixing our eyes on the problem is debilitating. It leads to depression. In fact, we can make an idol of our problem if that is all we think about. Jesus did not focus on the cross, its shame, and the humiliation heaped on him by the soldiers and crowd. He focused on the joy, the eternal, and the ultimate results that would come from his sacrifice. We have the promise, “ I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. ” (Psalm 32:8) We serve the God who sees and provides. He is the God of provision. God wants us to learn how

Dare to Ask Big!

Image
Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. James 4:2 Dare to Ask Big Most of us believe that God wants to provide for our daily needs, but His dream for your life is much bigger than your own. He has uncommon blessings, unusual increase, and unprecedented favor for you, but you can’t just ask Him for the ordinary. You have to ask for dreams that look impossible, for increase that seems out of reach, for favor to overcome obstacles that look too big. If you only pray small prayers, you’re going to see small results. How many of your big prayers are going unanswered because you never asked? You never had the boldness to say, “God, take me where I can’t go on my own. Open this door that looks impossible. Heal me of this sickness. Turn my child around.” If you’re not asking for something that’s over your head, that you don’t have the resources for, that the experts say there’s no way, you’re not believing for the far-and-beyond favor that God wants to show you.
