The God Factor!

Image
The God Factor “ God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant. ” (Romans 5:20) The GOD FACTOR is  SON POWER  at work in our life. SON POWER is the power of God overcoming obstacles. SON POWER is God’s grace at work in the believer, overcoming the power of the flesh and the lure of the world system that operates in contradiction to God’s ordained principles. For believers, it is time to arise, for our light has come. We are light in the Lord. We are to put on the armor of light. We are to walk as children of light. In fact, we are instructed to position ourselves so Christ can shine on us, “ for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, ‘Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.’”  (Ephesians 5:14) When Christ shines favorably on us, things happen! “ Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. ”

Destiny Moments!

Image
“Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.” (Zechariah 9:9) Destiny Moments In Matthew 21, Jesus told two of His disciples to go into a village and they would see a donkey and colt tied up, which they were to bring to Him. If anyone asked them about it, they were to say, “The Lord needs it.” Jesus got on the colt and rode it into Jerusalem where the people put palm branches on the ground before Him. As Jesus passed by, they shouted, “Hosanna! Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord!” This was all prophesied by Zechariah hundreds of years earlier. The disciples had thought they were just running an errand. They didn’t know they would be involved in the fulfillment of God’s prophetic word. As with them, God is orchestrating what He ordained for your life to come together. He is lining up exactly what you need. We can’t see it at the time, but w

How to Release SON POWER in Your Life!

Image
How to Release SON POWER in Your Life “ Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. ” (Romans 8:5–6) Focusing on what the Spirit desires is critical for  SON POWER  to operate in the life of the believer. If we focus only on satisfying the desires of the sinful nature, we will not have the privilege of seeing the GOD FACTOR become reality. The believer has been transferred to a new paradigm, where the rules and power for the way we live are sourced in the Holy Spirit of God. We must focus our mind on what the Spirit desires, trusting him to work out our salvation by his power. Trusting in self to live the Christian life ends in total failure because our sufficiency for doing so does not exist. We have died to the law, and we have been rele

When God Sings!

Image
“The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17) When God Sings In Acts 16, Paul and Silas had been beaten and put in jail for sharing the good news. They had done nothing wrong. They could have been bitter and complained. Instead, they were pit praisers. At midnight, in the dungeon, they were singing praises and thanking God. The Scripture says that suddenly there was a great earthquake and the prison doors flew open. I imagine God heard them and said, “If they’re going to praise Me at midnight in the pit, I’m going to go to work.” When you give God praise in the difficult times, when you have a song in the midnight hour, when you’re a pit praiser, the Lord your Mighty Warrior—not a weak God, not a limited God, not a lacking God, but the all-powerful Creator of the universe—will start singing over you. When God sings, prison doors open,

The Power of the Cross!

Image
The Power of the Cross “ The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. ” (1 Corinthians 1:18) It is by the cross we are crucified to the flesh and its passions and desires. It is by the cross we are crucified to the world with all its lures of temptation. “ Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. ” (Galatians 5:24) “ As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of that cross, my interest in this world has been crucified, and the world’s interest in me has also died. ” (Galatians 6:14) SON POWER  enables us to die to self and live in a way that pleases God. The Apostle Paul said, “ Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies. Yes, we live under constant danger of death beca

Stand Firm!

Image
Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. (1 Corinthians 16:13) Stand Firm In the Scripture, an angel appeared to a teenager named Mary and told her that she was going to be the mother of the Messiah, the Christ. She would have honor and be admired for generations to come. I’m sure Mary was excited. But I can hear Mary years later, saying, “God, You didn’t tell me I would have to watch my son die a painful death.” When God gives you a promise, He’ll show you the end but not the middle. What you’re going through today may be difficult and doesn’t make sense. This is where your faith has to kick in. Are you going to give up and talk yourself out of it? Or, are you going to do as Mary did and say, “God, You didn’t tell me about these dark valleys. But I know You’re still on the throne, and it’s not a surprise to You. I’m not going to live in discouragement, give up on my dreams, or quit believing. I’m going to have faith in the middle.” A Prayer for Today “Fat

The Word of God is Life Itself!

Image
The Word of God is Life Itself! “ Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. ” (Deuteronomy 8:3) Before I came to know Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, I foolishly believed that I would think about God later in life. This passage makes it clear that we do not live by “bread alone” – by material things. We live by every word that flows from the mouth of God. He holds our breath in his hand and he determines how, when, where, and by what we will die.  Life is not found in stuff, things, riches, or circumstances. Jesus reinforces this truth. He said, “ The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life. ” (John 6:63) We are born of the Spirit. It is through the Word of God we find life

Mustard Seed Faith

Image
“If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20, NKJV) Mustard Seed Faith The Scripture says when we have faith the size of a mustard seed, nothing is impossible. A mustard seed is one of the smallest seeds. God could have said, “If you have great faith, if you never doubt, I’ll do something big.” But God doesn’t expect us to have great faith all the time. It’s nice when we do, but He knows there will be times when we think it’s impossible. He knows there will be times when we don’t have the faith we need to reach our destinies, so He says, “If you have just a little bit of faith, that’s all you need. Then I’ll show up and exceed your expectations.” The fact that you’re reading this tells me you at least have mustard seed faith. That means you have the faith you need for God to show out in your life. You have the faith for God to catapult you to new leve

Know God and His Way

Image
Know God and His Ways “ Now if I have found favor in your sight, show me your way, that I may know you, that I may continue to find favor in your sight. And see that this nation is your people. ”  —Exodus 33:13   Make knowing God a top priority in life!  Moses yearned to know God and to know His ways.  In turn, God revealed himself to Moses.  Moses found that through this process, he experienced God’s presence and his favor.  Later, Moses was called to lead God’s people out of Egypt.  He knew that the Israelites would die in the wilderness without God’s favor, so Moses made it a priority to teach the people God’s ways.  As they lived for God, they too experienced his presence and favor. It was this very presence of God and his favor that set the Israelites apart from others. Things happen when God has priority in our life.  His favor opens doors, changes circumstances, causes blessing, gives protection, provides counsel, overcomes barriers, and gives strength,

Pure Hearts

Image
Today Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. (Psalm 51:10, NIV) A Pure Heart In Psalm 51, David offered God a prayer of repentance in which he acknowledged sins he had tried to cover up for a year. He was so weighed down with guilt and condemnation that he became sick and weak. That moral infection started to poison his physical life. David finally confessed his sins and asked God to forgive him. Things began to turn around. Once he released the guilt and got the infection out, his health was restored. He could receive cleansing in his heart, purity in his heart, and renewal in his spirit. As David did, we all make mistakes and sin. Too many people make the mistake of holding on to them or trying to hide them. They get bitter, live guilty, and go around with self-pity. Don’t hide it. You weren’t created to live under condemnation. Go to God and ask for forgiveness. Then here’s the key: Receive His mercy and ask for a pure heart that He can

Seek God Daily

Image
S eek God Diligently “ Now without faith it is impossible to please him, for the one who approaches God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. ”  —Hebrews 11:6   This verse tells us that God  responds  to those who are seeking him.  In fact, it says that God rewards those who “diligently seek him.”  We show an attitude of diligence by avidly spending time in his Word.  It is virtually impossible to know God’s will, his mind, his worldview, and his plan for our lives without studying his Word and spending time with him in prayer. When we really study the Bible, we find that it is alive and powerful, and that it effectively works in those who receive it as the living Word of God and not simply as the written words of men.  We find God’s power evident in many places where he promises to work on behalf of those whose hearts are loyal to him.  That is another way of saying that he will reward those who diligently seek him. God tells

Give Your Heart

Image
Give Your Heart to God “Give me your heart, my son, and let your eyes delight in my ways.” —Proverbs 23:26   As we consider a life guided by the principles of  KingdomNomics,  we must begin by making sure that we have truly given our hearts to God.  Once God has your heart, he is able to guide and direct you in every area of your life. There are many examples in the Bible of God working through individuals who had surrendered their hearts to him.  David had a heart that was after God, and God used him in a mighty way.  Zaccheaus had a burning desire to see Jesus, and he responded immediately when Jesus called him.  Caleb showed faith in the power of God in the face of what looked like insurmountable odds.  He followed God wholeheartedly and, unlike most of the others who died in the wilderness because of their disobedience, was allowed to enter the Promised Land.  Samuel listened to and obeyed the Lord and as a result was used by God as a prophet and judg

Heart Knowledge and Head Knowledge

Image
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”  (Psalm 119:105 ) Many people make the mistake of thinking that knowledge is enough to experience the presence and power of God. However, such a belief will short-circuit the Son Power in our lives. We need to remember the Hebrews wandering in the wilderness who had knowledge, but no purpose. “For this good news … has been announced to us just as it was to them. But it did them no good because they didn’t share the faith of those who listened to God” (Hebrews 4:2, NLT). Is the Word of God important to you? Are you spending time regularly reading it, memorizing it, and putting it into practice? In order to have Son Power operative in our lives, we  must  commit ourselves to the study of God’s Word. Our knowledge must move from our head to our heart in the form of conviction that impacts our faith and behavior. Failure to do so will certainly make our lives barren and unproductive. The knowledge that we gain from reading

Fireproof

Image
“When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” (Isaiah 43:2, NIV) Fireproof Maybe you prayed for God to turn a situation around, but it didn’t happen. Now thoughts tell you, “He must not care about you.” If Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were to step out of their story in Daniel 3, they’d say, “We know how you feel. We prayed and asked God to deliver us from going into the fiery furnace, but God didn’t answer our prayer the way we wanted. We were tempted to panic and complain, but instead, we decided to trust Him. We told the king that even if God didn’t deliver us, we would not bow to his idol. When he threw us in the furnace, amazingly, the fire didn’t burn us. Then all of a sudden, in the middle of the fire, the Son of God showed up!” You may be in the fire, but stay in faith. You are fireproof. God is right there with you. Keep believing, keep praying, keep doing the right thing. You’re going to come out without the smell

The Three Amigoes Me, I and Myself

Image
“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.”  (Galatians 2:20) Years ago, I was in a group experience where we were challenged to have a three-minute conversation without anyone using the words “me, my, or I” … we couldn’t do it! Unfortunately, each one of us has an innate desire to think about ourselves. This self-centered thinking, the “big I,” needs to be broken. It takes Son Power to remove the control of self. This power becomes operative in our lives when we ask the Holy Spirit, by faith, to take control of how we think, feel, and act. We must learn to trust in the power of God  alone  to empower us and deliver us. Dying to self is painful, but God has promised that he will manifest himself in us. In Proverbs we read these words, “For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord” (8:35). If we are to find favor with God and experience the Son-powered life, we must die to self along the pathway of life: self-reli

Friends Pull Up

Image
Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. (Acts 3:6–7, NIV) Friends Pull You Up After Peter spoke a word of faith to the crippled beggar in Acts 3, Peter wouldn’t let him stay down. He didn’t give him a choice. He prayed and then he pulled him up. You need some friends like Peter who won’t let you stay down. When you’re in the pits, when you can’t get up on your own, you don’t need people who feel sorry for you. You need people who pull you out of that pit. You need people who love you so much they won’t let you make excuses or stay discouraged or give up on your dream. They not only pray but pull you up. You may need to get away from a negative environment and people who are enabling your dysfunction and holding you back. Get away from people who tell you that where you are is where you’ll always be.
