Tasted for Righteousness Through Jesus Christ

Main Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."

This Scripture teaches us that through Jesus Christ, we have been made righteous, not by our own power or good works, but through faith in His finished work on the cross.

1. We are justified by faith

Romans 5:1 (KJV)

"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."

2. Righteousness comes through Jesus Christ

Romans 3:22 (KJV)

"Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe."

3. We become the righteousness of God in Christ

2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)

Jesus took our sins so that we might receive God's righteousness through Him.

4. We are saved by grace, not by works

Ephesians 2:8–9 (KJV)

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

5. There is no condemnation in Christ

Romans 8:1 (KJV)

"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus."

6. We are clothed with the righteousness of Christ

Philippians 3:9 (KJV)

"And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ."

7. We are called to seek God's righteousness

Matthew 6:33 (KJV)

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

Prayer Points

Father, thank You for making me righteous through Jesus Christ.

Lord Jesus, let Your righteousness manifest in every area of my life.

Every power of sin and condemnation operating against my life, lose your hold in Jesus' name.

Father, help me walk in holiness, obedience and righteousness.

Let my life become a testimony of Your grace and salvation.

Lord, empower me to live as a true ambassador of Christ.

Prophetic Declaration

I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I am justified by faith, redeemed by His blood, and accepted by His grace. Sin shall not have dominion over me. I walk in holiness, victory, peace and divine favour. Through Jesus Christ, I am a new creation. Amen!

Give Cheerfully!

Give Cheerfully “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”  (2 Corinthians 9:7) When giving is done with the right attitude, it can be a gateway for God to move in significant ways in our lives. It is important to remember that it is not the amount we give that matters so much as it is the attitude that characterizes our giving. God loves it when we give out of a cheerful and grateful heart. God’s loving of a cheerful giver results in God taking action in our lives. Scripture states unequivocally that God will make all spiritual and earthly blessing abound to us so we can multiply our efforts for the kingdom. This is why I believe giving provides a major gateway for God to work in our lives, we can expect God to visit us. Jesus will fellowship with the cheerful giver, and the Holy Spirit will impart life to out mortal bodies. When we weave a pattern of giving...

Blessed Indeed!

“The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you.”  Numbers 6:24–25, NIV Blessed Indeed Start today with God’s blessing on you, with His face shining upon you. You were created in His image. He didn’t make any mistakes. You didn’t get shortchanged. He knew every weakness you would have. He knew the areas you would struggle in. So quit beating yourself up, living unworthy, letting condemnation hold you back. Receive His grace and mercy and move forward with boldness and faith. With God’s blessing, you have to start blessing yourself. When you’re tempted to say something negative, turn it around. Instead of “I’m not attractive,” say “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Instead of “I’ve made too many mistakes,” say “I am forgiven, redeemed, and restored.” Instead of “I’ll never be successful,” say “I’m surrounded by favor.” You have a destiny to fulfill. There’s a calling on your life, an assignment that only you can accomplish. The...

Listen Up!

"After the earthquake a fire, but Adonai was not in the fire. After the fire there was a soft whisper of a voice."   (1 Kings 19:12) Listen Up! Listening is a lost art today. We can be so concerned about expressing our thoughts and opinions that we don't listen closely to others—or even to God. If we're not careful, distractions and busyness can drown out the voice that matters most in our lives, the voice of our heavenly Father. The good news is that you can learn to tune out the negative noise of the world and start listening for God's voice, for hopeful, positive, faith-filled thoughts. Be receptive and listen for His still, small voice on the inside of you. God speaks not only through the Bible but also through godly counsel and His Holy Spirit. All it takes is a simple prayer like the one Samuel prayed in 1 Samuel 3:10 when he said to God, "I am listening." Then be ready to listen for His answer. A Prayer for Today "God, than...
