Declare His Greatness!

Then Asa cried out to the LORD his God, “O LORD, no one but you can help the powerless against the mighty! Help us, O LORD our God, for we trust in you alone. It is in your name that we have come against this vast horde…do not let mere men prevail against you!”

Declare His Greatness
When King Asa and the people of Judah came under attack by an army of one million Ethiopians, their army was outnumbered two to one. But Asa’s battle cry was to come against the enemy in God’s name, declaring the greatness of our God to prevail. “So,” the Scripture says, “the Lord defeated the Ethiopians,” and the people of Judah carried off vast amounts of spoil. They came out better after the battle than they were before.

A great battle cry in times of trouble is to remind yourself of who God is. Who can stand against our God? No bad break, no sickness, no addiction, and no negative environment can stop His purpose for your life. You may be outnumbered today, in the natural the odds are against you as they were against Asa, but when you have this battle cry of faith, the supernatural God goes to work. One touch of His favor and enemies are defeated, healing comes, addictions are broken, trouble turns around, the right people track you down. God will do things that you can’t explain.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You want to do great things in my life so that others will see and know that You are God. Thank You that the battles are not mine but are Yours. I believe that You’re about to make things happen that I could never make happen, and in ways that no one can explain. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

We can be so concerned about expressing our thoughts and opinions that we don't listen closely to others—or even to God. If we're not careful, distractions and busyness can drown out the voice that matters most in our lives, the voice of our heavenly Father. The good news is that you can learn to tune out the negative noise of the world and start listening for God's voice, for hopeful, positive, faith-filled thoughts.
