Outlast It!

“The LORD delivered you into my hands today, but I would not lay a hand on the LORD’s anointed. As surely as I valued your life today, so may the LORD value my life and deliver me from all trouble.”

Outlast It
Sometimes the way you overcome a difficulty is to outlast it. For years, Saul was trying to kill David, who lived on the run, hiding and surviving in the wilderness, doing the right thing when it was hard. David had two opportunities to take Saul’s life, but he wouldn’t touch Saul because he knew God had anointed Saul. He let God be his vindicator and didn’t take matters into his own hands. Thirteen years after David was anointed by Samuel, Saul was killed in battle and David was made king. What took him to the throne wasn’t defeating Saul; it was the miracle of endurance. God sustained him.

But when we’re in the middle of the difficulty, it can be hard to see. Saul is still making your life miserable. The sickness hasn’t improved. Your child is still off course. You’re doing the right thing but the wrong thing is happening. That’s when you have to say, “Lord, thank You for sustaining me. Thank You for the grace for this season. I recognize You’re holding back the opposition. You’re giving me the power to endure.”
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for the promise that if I keep honoring You with an attitude of enduring faith, You will bring me through to victory. Thank You that I can tap into the staying power to outlast whatever is coming against me. I believe that You are with me and will bring me through this. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

PRAY!

  Sovereign God, create in me a clean heart and cleanse me of all my sin. Give me an obedient heart and teach me to follow your laws and keep your commands. May all I do and say bring honor to your holy name. Thank you for the gift of your Holy Spirit and for your everlasting love. Amen.

Listen Up!

"After the earthquake a fire, but Adonai was not in the fire. After the fire there was a soft whisper of a voice."   (1 Kings 19:12) Listen Up! Listening is a lost art today. We can be so concerned about expressing our thoughts and opinions that we don't listen closely to others—or even to God. If we're not careful, distractions and busyness can drown out the voice that matters most in our lives, the voice of our heavenly Father. The good news is that you can learn to tune out the negative noise of the world and start listening for God's voice, for hopeful, positive, faith-filled thoughts. Be receptive and listen for His still, small voice on the inside of you. God speaks not only through the Bible but also through godly counsel and His Holy Spirit.
