Fix It With Philippians 4:6!
Fix It With Philippians 4:6
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
(Philippians 4:6-7)
(Philippians 4:6-7)
One time I heard a person say, “Fix it with Philippians 4:6.” We experience a lot of turmoil and challenges we need help to overcome. Philippians 4:6-7 gives us a formula to cope successfully with these episodes.
The key to overcoming challenges is learning how to pray. Everything good thing is sourced in God, and all of God’s promises have their “yes” or fulfillment in the person of Jesus Christ. This in itself should help relieve the anxiety or worry that the flesh wants to control us. With an attitude of thankfulness that God will hear our prayers and requests, we are to make our needs known to him. The promise is that the peace of God will, indeed, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
The peace of Christ is one of the greatest promises we can experience. In fact, we are commanded to “let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful” (Colossians 3:15). When we are thankful, we are expressing faith in God’s provision for us.
Kingdom of God affirms a basic formula: “Prayer plus the supply of the Spirit will lead to God’s provision and deliverance.”
Indeed, we see this principle confirmed in Scripture: “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).
How much peace can be ours when we have the expectation of God’s provision to meet our needs!
Today, ask yourself:
Have I tried to “fix it with Philippians 4:6” when I have problems?
Amen
