How Wise!

Image
How Wise! As they came into the house and saw the child with Mary his mother, they bowed downand worshiped him. They opened their treasure boxes and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.  (Matthew 2:11) The wise men were students of their times. They followed the star, found Jesus, bowed down, and worshipped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented Jesus with gifts. Perhaps these were the first strategic kingdom investors in the New Testament age. What an example for us to follow! As students of our times, do we see the “star”? Are we willing to worship the King? The wise men worshiped Jesus and presented their treasure to him. The wise men first gave their hearts to Jesus when they bowed down and worshiped him. Once the Lord has our heart, he has everything else related to us. We seek to present  ourselves —our time, talent, and treasure—to the King. Daily, we prese...

Lord Jesus, thank you for placing your truth in my heart. Give me the mind to discern your truth and your ways, that my beliefs and actions may reflect your will. In your holy name, I pray. Amen.

Ask God to Shine His Favor on Your Life!

Image
Ask God to Shine His Favor on Your Life “What do you want me to do for you?” “Lord, I want to see,” he replied. ( Luke 18:41) Jesus asked the man this question, “What do you want me to do for you?” And he asks the same question of us: “What do you want me to do for you?” What would you like Jesus to do for you today? Are you thinking of something that you know is in accordance with his will, something that will echo into eternity? Or was the first thing that came to mind something perishable that has no eternal significance? The  Kingdom of God  thinker allows their mind to be transformed through the  Kingdom of God  principles of Soak, Sow, and Flow so that their life is brought more into conformance with the will of God. It is in this way that God empowers and blesses their life. God’s will includes our asking for a spirit of revelation and understanding, having his will become our will, and asking that he shine his favor on our lives and endeavors in order ...

Delight in God’s Word!

Image
Delight in God’s Word “ When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, Lord God Almighty. ” (Jeremiah 15:16) “ Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. ”   (Psalm 37:4) The Word of God is at the heart of Kingdom of God . Kingdom of God makes no sense unless it is understood within the context of God’s Word. Both Jeremiah and the psalmist show us how to position ourselves in relationship to God so that he can make himself known to us and actively participate in our lives. Feeding on the Word of God is critical for this to happen. Jeremiah gives us the “mechanics” for experiencing God in our life. When he found God’s Words, he “ate” them. In other words, he internalized them by  memorizing them and meditating  on them to the point that those words became his heart’s delight. I like to call these kinds of verses “Spiritual M&Ms,” passa...

Nothing Missing!

Image
“When you survey your possessions, nothing will be missing. You will have many children; your descendants will be as plentiful as grass!” Job 5:24–25 Nothing Missing in the Scripture, Job experienced great losses—his children, his business, and his health. Just when he was about to give up, a friend said, “If you look to God, He will rescue and heal you. This loss is temporary. When God brings restoration, nothing will be missing.” Later, when Job stated, “I know that my Redeemer lives,” he was declaring that God would finish what He started. Job’s thinking shifted from “this loss is permanent” to “restoration is coming, health is coming, family is coming, victory is coming,” which is what God did for Job. He not only restored what Job had lost, but God gave him twice what he had before. Just as God promised, nothing was missing.  That’s the way our God is. Don’t judge the rest of your life by what’s missing now. When God gets finished, nothing is going to be missing, l...

Living a New Life!

Image
Living a New Life! Therefore we have been buried with him through baptism into death, in order that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too may live a new life.   (Romans 6:4). When people look at you as a believer, can they tell you are a person who has been with Jesus? In addition to the verse above, Paul also wrote to the Galatians, “I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. Sothe life I now live in the body, I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20). The Spirit of Christ overpowers the old self so we can live a new life. In fact, our lives become hidden in Christ: “ For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God ” (Colossians 3:3). Our goal is to have more and more of our life hidden in Christ. After all, to become like Christ is now one of our p...
