The Reward Factor!

Image
The Reward Factor “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. ” (Revelation 22:12-13) Jesus Christ is coming back to this world soon! Unfortunately, most people give no thought to the certainty of his return. But for  Kingdom of God thinkers , this passage is the MAJOR motivating factor in life. Jesus Christ is not only coming back, but he is bringing his reward with him. He is going to give to each person according to what he or she has done in this world. “ For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ ” (1 Corinthians 3:11). “ If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames ” (1 Corinthians 3:14–15). We must be careful to make sure that Jesus ...

Designed by God!

Image
Designed by God “ He fashions their hearts individually; He considers all their works. ” (Psalm 33:15) Incredible! Each of us has been specifically designed by God for his purpose and use. Christians are told this in Scripture: “ For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them ” (Ephesians 2:10). Discovering God’s plan and purpose is the most fulfilling part of life one can imagine. God has redeemed us for his purposes, “ who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works ” (Titus 2:14). God considers all of our works. After all, he designed us, and he is interested in seeing whether his purposes are being served. Our redeemed talents, gifts, and desires call us into the avenues of service he has prepared for us. God has given you a heart to do something for him. You have been designed for it. In all probability,...

Convictions are Key!

Image
Convictions are Key “ Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. ” (Romans 4:20-21) Abraham is a prime example of one who was fully persuaded that God would perform what he had promised. That is conviction. Conviction was a controlling factor in Abraham’s life, and he ordered his life accordingly, experiencing the blessing of God. Conviction is a key component of faith. When a person lacks conviction, their faith wavers and the promises of God may not be fulfilled. Scripture tells us, “W hen you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord ” (James 1:6–7). We must have the conviction that the Word of God is living and powerful, and that it works in those who receive and trust in it. The promise...

Keep Getting Back Up!

Image
Though a righteous man falls seven times, he will get up… Proverbs 24:16 Keep Getting Back Up When life knocks you down, steps on you, takes your health, or squashes your dreams, you just have to get back up again. The way you win some battles is not by defeating them but by outlasting the opposition. You have comeback power. Some enemies are stubborn. You can’t be weak and give up because it’s not happening on your timetable. You have to outlast the trouble at work, outlast the slow season in your finances, outlast the difficulty in your marriage. We all want God to deliver us from attacks, but if He’s not changing it, then it’s really simple—you have to keep getting back up and outlast the attacks. Oluwafemi, sometimes we think God has forgotten about us. We’ve seen Him turn situations around in the past, but this problem won’t seem to go away. You have to have a holy determination and say, “Staying down is not an option. I’m going to outlast this sickness, this addiction, this...

Weave a Pattern of Giving Into Your Life!

Image
Weave a Pattern of Giving Into Your Life “ Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. ” (2 Corinthians 9:7-8) Recently, I received an email from someone who desires to be a kingdom investor, but struggles to give cheerfully. The person asked how to get started in this type of giving. I encouraged the individual to read the book,  Kingdom  of God, and followed up with this: God honors the giver who gives with a cheerful heart. My suggestion is to study 2 Corinthians 9:6-15. Each person is to give as they purpose in their own heart, not under compulsion or grudgingly, for God loves a cheerful giver. Love is an action word. Verse 8  indicates that God will swing into action in the life of the cheerful giver. Verse 6  explains the “so...
