Let Peace Rule Your Heart!

And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.
Colossians 3:15, NLT
Let Peace Rule Your Heart
In Acts 12, after King Herod Agrippa saw how pleased the people were when he killed the apostle James, he arrested Peter and put him in prison for sharing his faith. On the night before his trial, Peter knew he could be the next in line. His life could be over in a few hours. You would think he would be so worried, so panicked, but Peter understood the principle of letting the peace of Christ rule in his heart. Fear came knocking at the door, but he said, “No, thanks. I’m going to stay in peace. My God is still in control.” That’s why the angel had to wake Peter up when he came and rescued him from the prison. In the face of death, Peter had the peace that passes understanding.

That’s what happens when you take control of your thought life. When you refuse to envision everything that could go wrong in the midst of the storm, you’ll have peace. When you could be worried, stressed, and unable to sleep, you will have calm. The peace of Christ will rule the day.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for Your peace that rules and guards my heart as I put my trust in You. Thank You that when fear and worry come knocking, I can shut the door. I refuse to allow my circumstances or what others say and do to get me upset. I declare I will walk in peace. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
