Further Faster!

Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing. But Philip was found at Azotus. And passing through, he preached in all the cities till he came to Caesarea.
Acts 8:39–40, NKJV
Further Faster
In Acts 8, Philip was directed by an angel into the desert to meet the treasurer of the queen of the Ethiopians, who upon hearing about Jesus immediately believed and wanted to be baptized. When they came up out of the water, the Scripture says that the Spirit of God caught Philip away and he was found in Azotus, where he began preaching again. One moment he’s in the water, and the next moment he’s twenty miles away. That defies logic, except that God had an obvious purpose for Philip to accomplish quickly.

God has times when He will purposefully propel you ahead. It may not be to another city, but God may propel you in your career or health or a relationship. He opens a door, gives you ideas, causes you to stand out, brings the right people, brings the healing. You can’t explain how it happens. It doesn’t make sense. It should have taken years. You look up and think, “How did I get to Azotus?” so to speak. Look for the God of acceleration to step in and do what you can’t do.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You can take me further faster than I could ever imagine because I honor You and want to do Your will. Thank You that You can take what seems like it could take years to happen and suddenly turn it around. I believe that You have wonderful things in store for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
