Saved to Do Good Works

“…Who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.” (Titus 2:14)

Good works do not save us. I want to be very clear about this.
We are not saved “by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” (Titus 3:5–7)
The work of salvation has been done by the Lord Jesus Christ himself. We are justified or made acceptable to God when we receive, as a gift, the salvation he has provided through Christ. We trust in him alone for our salvation.
However, we are saved to do the good works he has appointed for us to do.
“This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.” (Titus 3:8)
He has set us free from the power of self and sin so we can do the work he has prepared us to do.

Here are two key steps a wise person can take:

  1. Make sure you have established a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  2. Take steps to become a converterlator, investing your time, talent, and treasure to convert the perishable things in this world into the imperishable values that will last for all of eternity.
As you commit to doing these steps, your life’s work will echo into eternity.

Today, ask yourself:

Am I eternally minded? Am I conducting my life in such a way that it will echo into eternity?

Experience SON POWER!

                    Experience SON POWER I love to watch the clouds in the sky during the day and in the brightness of the moon at night. Watching those clouds move is an illustration to me of how God is always on the move. He is continually working to change our circumstances and is always available to intervene in the affairs of mankind. Sometimes the clouds appear to be still, but if I watch long enough, I see their changing shapes, I notice them moving ever so slightly and silently.   The Roots of Hope Scripture: Habakkuk 3:17–19 “Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The land was soon to be invaded and, because of the disobedience of the people to God over time, prosperity was no more.
