He Brings Treasures to the Righteous!

Image
"A good mans leaves an inheritance [of moral stability and goodness] to his children’s children, and the wealth of the sinner [finds its way eventually] into the hands of the righteous, for whom it was laid up." (Proverbs 13:22) He Brings Treasures to the Righteous Did you know there are resources and blessings laid up for the righteous? There are funds that will eventually be transferred over into the hands of the people who will use them for God’s purposes. In the Scripture, God is called "the Lord of the Sabbath." That means He is “the God who puts His armor on and goes to war against those who hold His treasure from His purposes.” Just imagine God getting His armor on and going into the forces of darkness and saying, “Okay, I’ll take those funds. I need them for My children. I’ll take these businesses, these ideas, these contracts. They have My children’s names on them.” Friends, God is fighting your battles for you. He has immeasurable favor th...

4 Rs: Son Power Seals, Reveals, and Deals!

Image
4 Rs: Son Power Seals, Reveals, and Deals “For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’”   (Acts 17:28) Once we accept Jesus Christ into our life, Son Power is all encompassing. It affects all aspects of our relationship with God. Relationship Our relationship with God is established when the Holy Spirit seals us at the time we believe and trust in Jesus Christ to be our Lord and Savior. We are his offspring in the sense we are now children of God, heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ. We are in his “bloodline” because of the blood of Christ which pays for our sin. This is a relationship that cannot be broken (as noted by a multitude of passages in the Bible). Revelation The establishment of our relationship with God is just the beginning step. We soon discover through revelation that Son Power will now deal with us for the rest of our life in this world. We live in the Spirit. We are to walk in the Sp...

Failure Is Not Final!

Image
"But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead..." (Philippians 3:13) Failure Is Not Final Are you down on yourself today because of past mistakes you’ve made or because you’re not where you want to be in life? God knows every poor choice, every difficulty, every wrong turn you may have made, and He’s already planned your comeback! In Scripture, the prophet Jonah took a detour, so to speak. It took him a little bit longer, but because he called out to God, because he believed, God not only rescued him, but God got him to his final destination. Friend, know today that failure is not final. God always has the final say. Mistakes don’t have to keep you from your destiny. God’s plan can override every setback. Your world may be in turmoil today in a relationship, in your finances or health. But know this: not only will God rescue you, He will set your feet on a rock and lead you to your final destination in life. Remember, the...

4 Rs: Son Power Can Make Us Like the Morning Light!

Image
4 Rs: Son Power Can Make Us Like the Morning Light “The Spirit of the Lord speaks through me; his words are upon my tongue … [He] is like the light of morning at sunrise, like a morning without clouds, like the gleaming of the sun on new grass after rain. ”  (2 Samuel 23:2, 4) The transformation we experience because of Son Power is unlimited when we are totally committed to the Lord. Relationship Because of our relationship with Jesus Christ, we have the potential for the Lord to speak through us just as he did through King David as recorded in 2 Samuel. In fact, we are commanded to be ambassadors for Christ as we take part in the Great Commission (see Matthew 28:16–20). Revelation Each of us can be a spokesperson for the Lord. However, we need to be regularly feeding on his Word in order for it to become a part of us. His Word will naturally flow out of us as we practice soaking our heart in it, sowing it to him in our prayer life, and then flowing it into our ...

Be Proactive in Sharing God's Love!

Image
"Careful planning puts you ahead in the long run; hurry and scurry puts you further behind." (Proverbs 21:5) Be Proactive in Sharing God's Love Are you kind and considerate to people? Do you walk in love and prefer others above yourself? This passage tells us to be proactive! Notice the word "aim" and "seek." You must be on the lookout to share God's mercy and kindness and be good to all people. Moreover, we need to be kind to people even when they don’t deserve it. We need to walk in love and be courteous even when somebody is unkind to us. The way you treat others has a great impact on how much of the blessings and favor of God you're going to experience. Aim for kindness and seek to do good. As you do, God will reward your efforts and pour out His abundant blessing on you. As you extend God's mercy to all those around you, you will discover the champion in you! A Prayer for Today "Father in heaven, thank You for You...

4 Rs: Son Power Opens Our Eyes to the Truth of the Bible!

Image
4 Rs: Son Power Opens Our Eyes to the Truth of the Bible “Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions . ”  (Psalm 119:18) “And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.”  (Luke 24:45) Before I came to have a real relationship with Jesus Christ, I had no interest in the Word of God. Foolishly, I felt I would have time to do that later in life. The few times I did read the Bible, I had no understanding about what it was actually saying. What changed my perspective? Relationship It was after I established a true relationship with God through Jesus Christ that I developed a desire to really read the Word of God. It was in the New Testament that I learned that we as believers have been given the right to know the secrets of the kingdom. Jesus said, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you” (Matthew 13:11). Only the Holy Spirit can open our eyes to understand the secrets of God’s...

The Way To Get Ahead!

Image
"Careful planning puts you ahead in the long run; hurry and scurry puts you further behind." (Proverbs 21:5) The Way To Get Ahead It’s amazing how taking a few minutes at the start of each day to plan and set your thoughts in the right direction can help you get ahead and empower you to accomplish so much more. But too often, people get so caught up in the activity of life that they tend to just “go with the flow” instead. I’m not saying we shouldn’t be flexible, but when it comes to your life, you should be the one setting the flow. Of course, unexpected things happen. Our days won’t always go according to plan, but if you’ll take time each day to set your heart and mind in the right direction, you’ll be equipped for whatever comes your way! Today I encourage you to make plans to start your day right and set your thoughts in the right direction. Say something such as "This is going to be a great day. God is guiding and directing my steps. His favor i...

Ask God to Shine His Favor on Your Life!

Image
Ask God to Shine His Favor on Your Life “What do you want me to do for you?”  “Lord, I want to see,” he replied. ( Luke 18:41) In Luke 18:41 Jesus asks the question, “What do you want me to do for you?” He asks the same question for us. What would you like Jesus to do for you today? Would you ask him for something that you know is in accordance with his will, something that will echo into eternity? Or would you ask for some perishable item that has no eternal benefit? The Kingdom of God thinker allows his mind to be transformed through the Kingdom of God principles of SOAK, SOW, AND FLOW so that his life is brought more into conformance with the will of God. This way God can empower and bless his life. His will includes our asking for a spirit of revelation and understanding, having his will become our will, and asking that he will shine with favor on our lives and endeavors for helping in the expansion of his kingdom. Today, ask yourself:  Have I made room in my request...

Sowing Honor!

Image
"He has declared that he will set you in praise, fame and honor high..." (Deuteronomy 26:19) Sowing Honor All throughout Scripture, we see that God blesses an attitude of honor. In Exodus, it says that when we honor our parents, we are promised long life. In Proverbs, when we pursue righteousness, we will find life, prosperity and honor. To show honor simply means that you give respect and recognition. There are many ways to show honor to others with your attitude, actions and words. I believe that as we humble ourselves and give honor, we will reap a harvest of honor in our lives in return. Today, . It's a time when we honor all the men of God and women of God who have given their lives in service of the Kingdom of God. "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends" (John 15:13, NIV). As we remember what these brave men and women did, let's honor the gift of freedom they have given us by saying tha...

Are You The Owner?!

Image
Are You The Owner? “ My son, give me your heart and let your eyes delight in my ways. ” (Proverbs 23:26) Q:  “What is the process of withdrawing money from the bank of mammon and depositing it in the bank of heaven?” Withdrawing funds from the bank of mammon and depositing them in the bank of heaven is basically an attitude. Our attitude toward ourselves and everything we have changes as we cultivate our relationship with Jesus Christ. Who owns us? Who owns what we have in our possession? Kingdom of God thinkers come to the realization that we are  stewards  of the  time, talent, and resources  God has entrusted to us. God is the  owner . He bought us with the precious shed blood of his Son. The first  Kingdom of God Applied devotional  cites Proverbs –  My son, give me your heart . If God has our heart, he has everything related to us including the money entrusted to us. Every good and perfect gift comes from heaven. Every...

PRAY!

Image
Loving God, instill in me a faith like Ruth’s, with an unswerving love and loyalty to you. And whenever I feel disheartened like Naomi, remind me of your steadfast love and care. You are the one true and living God; may I serve you always. Amen.

Hey! There’s No Armor for my Back!

Image
Hey! here’s No Armor for my Back! “Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”  (Ephesians 6:11) At the Gettysburg battleground there is a small plaque that says, “Write home, and tell them I died facing the enemy.” The Christian life is all about advancing, pressing forward, running a race, forgetting those things that are behind – all for the purpose of accomplishing God’s will on this earth. We invade the darkness with the light of the Gospel, going into all the world with all of the means God has given us. Retreat is not an option. We are in a battle, taking new ground. After taking it, we stand firm. It is interesting to note the armor of God that we put on. Apparently, no provision is mentioned for our back. As Christians, we are to advance, not retreat. We are to invade our culture, keeping the culture from invading the church. Others have said that the best defense is a good offense. The more active we can be i...

PRAY!

Gracious God, remove any thoughts of revenge that may be in my heart this day. Help me to proclaim your love, mercy, and salvation to everyone I meet today. Amen.

4 Rs: God’s Grace!

Image
4 Rs: God’s Grace “God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood.”  (Romans 3:24–25) Grace is the unmerited favor of God granting salvation to all people through the death and resurrection of his son, Jesus Christ. This is a work of God alone and is given to each individual as a gift. All other religions are works oriented, requiring people to justify themselves through their own good behaviors in order to make themselves acceptable to God. Jesus Christ came into the world to save us from “self-justification.” According to God’s plan we are offered salvation based on “Christ-justification.” We must be sure that after salvation we build our lives on the foundation of Christ, and not on the foundation of self-effort. Relationship ...

Somebody's Rooting For You!

Image
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." (Hebrews 12:1) Somebody's Rooting For You I grew up playing sports, and I’ve experienced the difference it makes to have somebody in the stands cheering for you. When you know they’re watching you, you hear them calling your name, you see their hands up in the air, it does something on the inside. It causes you to jump a little higher and run a little faster. You’ve got a greater determination because you know somebody is rooting for you. Today, you have a great multitude in heaven cheering you on! They’re saying, “You can do it! You’re a winner! You are well able, strong and equipped. No weapon formed against you will prosper!” No matter what difficulty you may be facing, you always have the home-field advantage. You are always surrounded by ...

Have You Captured the Vision?

Image
Have You Captured the Vision? “Then the Lord… said, “Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.”  ( Habakkuk 2:2  ) Can you think of a more worthwhile cause to join than one ordained by God?  The last command of Jesus Christ was for his disciples to go into all the world and make disciples. He gives us the privilege to join in the greatest movement in the history of the world: to help save mankind from the coming destruction and judgment of God.  Each generation has the responsibility to reach the peoples of their time with the gospel of Jesus Christ. For me this means to capture the vision, to run with the mission, to help fulfill the Great Commission!   Only the Word of God and the souls of people are going to last forever. Everything else will be destroyed. What does this say to us as to how we should invest our time, talent, and treasure while we are in this world? Today, ask yourself: Have I captured the ...

Give Generously!

Image
"...the righteous give generously." (Psalm 37:21) Give Generously Did you know that when you give to others in need, the Bible says it’s like giving directly to God Himself? When you step out and bless other people, you are honoring and blessing the Lord. The Scripture tells us to give our best, to give generously. In other words, stretch yourself. Go out of your way. It may be uncomfortable to walk over and pay for someone’s gas, but that’s being generous. I encourage you today, look for ways to give generously and meet the needs of others. You can’t help everyone, but you can help someone. You can be the answer to someone’s prayers. Remember, people have many different types of needs. There may be someone who needs some encouragement. Give generously when you give that encouragement. There may be someone in your life that just needs a friend; they need some quality time. Give generously of your time and pour into that person. As you give generously to oth...

4 Rs: Plugged in to the Power Source!

Image
4 Rs: Plugged in to the Power Source “Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”   (Ephesians 4:30) To grieve the Holy Spirit is to live in direct disobedience to the known will of God. Why is this so important for us to avoid? Relationship The Holy Spirit is the one who has sealed us for the day of redemption. However, we must remember that this sealing is just the  beginning  of a living and vital relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit has been poured into our heart to enlighten us about the will of God. The Holy Spirit gives us direction and a sense of mission. This is  Son Power  at work. Revelation The Holy Spirit reveals to us the secrets of the kingdom of God which those who do not know Christ cannot know or understand. He is the one who empowers us to live what Christ taught when he was in the world. He is the one who intervenes for us in our prayer life. When we grieve ...

Plan for a Comeback!

Image
"Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ..." (2 Corinthians 2:14) Plan for a Comeback God promises to always lead us into victory! That means no matter what you are facing, no matter what’s going on in the world around you, no matter what anybody says, you should always be planning for a comeback! In the middle of that adversity or tough time, start making your list of who you’re going to invite to your victory celebration. You don’t have to wait for everything to be perfect before you decide to celebrate what God is going to do in your life. Put some action behind your faith. That means if you’re in the hospital, start planning what you’re going to do when you get out. If you lost some money when the stock market went down, start planning your coming-out-of-debt party. When things don’t look good in the natural, remember, we serve a supernatural God. With God leading you into victory, you can always plan for increase. You can plan fo...

4 Rs: The Judgment Factor!

Image
4 Rs: The Judgment Factor “This is the message I proclaim—that the day is coming when God, through Christ Jesus, will judge everyone’s secret life. ” (Romans 2:16) The judgment of God is something we often do not want to think or talk about. But the message of this verse in Romans is that judgment is very real. Our life on earth is temporary. Hebrews 9:27 tells us, “People are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment” . The apostle John wrote, “The Father judges no one. Instead, he has given the Son absolute authority to judge” (John 5:22). Judgement is real. Relationship A right relationship with God through Christ saves us from the wrath of God. “I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life” (John 5:24, NLT). We have already passed from death to life through God’s provision. Revelation Trust in Jes...

Embrace Your Season!

Image
"For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven." (Ecclesiastes 3:1) Embrace Your Season God has ordained seasons and cycles in our lives. Sometimes, when our dreams aren’t coming to pass on our timetable, we can be tempted to get frustrated. But we have to be careful not to allow our attitude to keep us from moving forward. Understand that in God’s kingdom, every season is not harvest. Every season is not springtime, with beautiful flowers, gorgeous sunshine and cool breezes. There are plowing seasons, planting seasons and watering seasons. Sure, we would love for every season to be a time of increase, but without the other seasons, we wouldn’t be prepared for promotion. You have to choose to rejoice today. God has given you not only the grace to endure this season but to enjoy the season. When you’re content, you see each day as a gift, appreciate the people in your lives, and are grateful for what God has given you. That is not on...

4 Rs: Son Power Helps Us Understand the Times!

Image
4 Rs: Son Power Helps Us Understand the Times “From the tribe of Issachar, there were 200 leaders of the tribe with their relatives. All these men understood the signs of the times and knew the best course for Israel to take.”  (1 Chronicles 12:32) In the Old Testament there were men of great wisdom who knew what they needed to do. We need insight provided by the Holy Spirit to understand the signs of our times. The world around us is confused, but God will give us the wisdom necessary to navigate the difficulties facing us. Relationship Our relationship with the Holy Spirit enables us to have that understanding. Revelation We know that the Holy Spirit not only seals us, but also reveals to us the secrets of God’s kingdom. Then he deals with us as he leads us in the way God’s desires. Reflection We need to look to him to empower us to do the things that he reveals to us. Redemption We must make sure the Holy Spirit is in control of our life moment by mome...

The Word That Leads To Victory!

Image
"For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith." (1 John 5:4) The Word That Leads To Victory When trials and tribulations come, as children of the Most High God, we can take courage. We have a promise that we can overcome anything that tries to come against us in this life through our faith in God. When the enemy tries to come against you with sickness, despair or lack, you can stand secure and know that God promises healing, hope and provision. God promises you victory in every area of life! God created us to be the victor, not the victim!. Don't let your world overcome you; overcome your world by believing and confessing God's Word today! A Prayer for Today "God, I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the problems and pressures of this world. Help me to instead focus on You and the plan You have for me. I pray that You help me stand secure in my faith and proclaim myself to be a conq...

The Power of the Cross!

Image
The Power of the Cross “You once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.”   (Ephesians 2:2) In the flesh, everyone is following the course of this world that is being led by the prince of the power of the air, Satan, who works in the sons of disobedience. Without Son Power we end up being led by this spirit that follows the course of this world. The power of the cross enables us to break free from our disobedience. Without Christ washing away our sins by his own blood, we have no salvation. Without the death and resurrection of Jesus, we cannot experience freedom. He restores our relationship with God and gives us access to Son Power for everyday living. The power of the cross helps us to overcome the “joy busters” that attempt to rob us of our peace and contentment in times of instability. When we face unsettling problems, we hold on to the power given to us ...

PRAY!

Holy God, teach us the ways of peace and reconciliation. May I speak no harsh words today. Guard my lips so that my words offer encouragement to others and reflect the goodness of your love. Amen.
