Seals, Reveals, and Deals!

Image
Seals, Reveals, and Deals “ That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, ‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.’ But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. ” (1 Corinthians 2:9–10) The Holy Spirit does all of the above. He seals us at the pivotal point of spiritual birth: “ In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, ” (Ephesians 1:13) As we cultivate our relationship with Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit reveals more and more to us as we mature. Scripture teaches us the source of true life so we can be the yield-active  CONVERTERLATORS . “ And he said to them, ‘Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.’  ” (Luke 12:15, ESV) “ It ...

The Blessing override all else!

Image
Today's Scripture And God said to Balaam, “You shall not go with them; you shall not curse the people, for they are blessed.” (Numbers 22:12, NKJV) The Blessing Overrides All Else When the Israelites headed toward Jericho and were camped on the plains of Moab, the Moabite king saw how many Israelites there were, and he was afraid. So he hired a foreigner named Balaam to curse the people of Israel. But God told Balaam that “what I have blessed you cannot curse.” Notice that when God’s blessing is upon you, it doesn’t matter what negative thing someone says or does to you. All that matters is that God put His blessing on you, and that blessing will always override any curse. When you go through disappointments, when unfair things happen, it’s easy to feel that’s clouded your future. Have a new perspective. What God has blessed nothing can curse. When you understand you have God’s blessing on you, you won’t be upset because someone’s talking about you. You won’t be worried about your ...

Head Knowledge and Heart Knowledge!

Image
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”  (Psalm 119:105) Many people make the mistake of thinking that knowledge is enough to experience the presence and power of God. However, such a belief will short-circuit the Son Power in our lives. We need to remember the Hebrews wandering in the wilderness who had knowledge, but no purpose. “For this good news … has been announced to us just as it was to them. But it did them no good because they didn’t share the faith of those who listened to God” (Hebrews 4:2 ). Is the Word of God important to you? Are you spending time regularly reading it, memorizing it, and putting it into practice? In order to have Son Power operative in our lives, we  must  commit ourselves to the study of God’s Word. Our knowledge must move from our head to our heart in the form of conviction that impacts our faith and behavior. Failure to do so will certainly make our lives barren and unproductive. The knowledge that we gain from...

Show Mercy

Image
Today's Scripture He is no longer like a slave to you. He is more than a slave, for he is a beloved brother, especially to me. (Philemon 1:16, NLT) Show Mercy The apostle Paul was in a predicament. A slave named Onesimus had stolen from and run away from Philemon, and when he came to Paul, he gave his life to Christ. He had done something wrong, but he became a brother in the faith to both Paul and Philemon. Paul wrote a letter to Philemon on behalf of Onesimus, asking Philemon to forgive him and receive him back as a brother rather than as a slave whom he had the legal right to send to prison. Would Philemon forgive him, or would he hold on to the hurt and anger? Sooner or later someone who did you wrong is going to show up at your door. You could be bitter and angry. That’s a test. Are you holding a grudge and feeling vindictive? Or have you grown, have you come up higher, have you gotten past all the hurt to where you can show them mercy, where you can even bless your enemies? T...

Guard Your hearts

Image
Guard Your Heart “Guard your heart with all vigilance, for from it are the sources of life.” —Proverbs 4:23 Truly, our behavior springs from our hearts!  That is why it is critical that we spend time immersed in God’s Word every day.  God’s Word will protect our hearts from being consumed with the things of this world. This is the only way we can obtain a perspective which properly balances temporal and eternal concerns in life.  This perspective will impact what we do and do not do in this world.  We must soak our hearts in the Word of God!  And that takes time.  I like to call it “heart time.” The ways in which we invest in God’s kingdom are truly a reflection of heart time.  It determines where we spend our time, talent and treasure.  The more time we spend in God’s Word, the more we realize that the matter of kingdom investing needs to have a high priority in our lives.  Heart time i...

Ask God for insight and wisdom!

Image
Ask God for Insight and Wisdom “‘ Call on me in prayer and I will answer you. I will show you great  and mysterious things that you still do not know about .’” —Jeremiah 33:3 This passage is impossible to read without wanting it to be true!  For me, personally, this is a “button pusher.” It indicates that God wants to be an integral part of our lives. Not only does God reveal his will to us by his Spirit, but he also shows us other great and mighty things.  These can include his counsel, guidance, blessing, or opportunities in our professions or for ministry.  Nothing is beyond the sovereignty of the Creator of heaven and earth!  Job, when he acknowledged the awesome acts of the God as the One who hangs the earth on nothing, who stirs up the sea in all of its power, and by his Spirit adorns the heavens, said that we have indeed only seen the ...
