Talk about His Greatness!

Image
“...Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O LORD, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things...” (1 Chronicles 29:11) Talk about His Greatness Many people spend a lot of time talking about and reliving their past mistakes and hurts. Here’s the problem. You’re remembering the wrong things. Nowhere in the Scripture are we told to remember our defeats, failures, or bad breaks. It’s time to quit thinking and talking about it. All that it’s doing is depressing you. David says in Psalm 34, “Let all who are discouraged take heart.” He goes on to tell us how to do it. “Come, let’s talk about God’s greatness. I prayed and the Lord answered me.” He was saying, “When you’re discouraged, when you don’t see a way out, talk about God’s greatness—not about your problems, not about what didn’t work out. Talk about your answered prayers, the times God healed you, promoted you, s...

Seek God!

Image
Seek God! “ But as for me, I would seek God, and to God I would commit my cause — who does great things, and unsearchable, marvelous things without number. ” (Job 5:8–9) We live in a world where most people seek  things, stuff, experiences, pleasures, power, money,  and  status , thinking they will satisfy the inner longings of their soul. We are seeking the wrong things! Only God, the source of all life, can fill our heart with the contentment and peace we need to live a balanced life. In Kingdom of God, the first order of business is to seek the face of God. The Bible tells us, “ Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. ” (Psalm 37:5) The wise person puts this verse into practice. The reason is explained in Scripture: God is the one who makes things happen. In fact, he can do way more than we can ask, think or imagine. His works are awesome, marvelous, and without number! We can live a life of triumph “by the work of his hands.” His...

Take Him at His Word!

Image
“...Jesus simply replied, “Go home. Your son lives.” The man believed the bare word Jesus spoke and headed home. On his way back, his servants intercepted him and announced, “Your son lives!...” (John 4:50–51) Take Him at His Word A government official had come to Jesus begging Him to come heal his son who was close to death. Jesus didn’t pray or take a lot of time, but matter-of-factly declared that the boy was healed and he should go home. The whole time walking back home, the man could have thought, I don’t know if it’s going to happen, He didn’t even pray. But he simply took God at His word and later found that his son had been healed at the exact time Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.” Like this man, there are promises God has spoken to you, things in your heart that you know are going happen—healing, promotion, divine connections. Make the decision you’re not going to worry, you’re not going to go around doubting, thinking it’s never going to happen. Stay in faith knowing that ...

Fear Not! God is With You!

Image
Fear Not! God is With You “ Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. ” (Isaiah 41:10) Fear paralyzes us, particularly when we focus on the problem or worry we face. Fear drains the life out of us. When we allow fear to control us (instead of God controlling us), fear becomes a god. At least 450 verses in Scripture address the subject of fear. It is a topic God wants us to handle properly. We are not to be afraid because  God promises to be with us . As we face formidable circumstances, he tells us not to be discouraged because  he  is our God, and  not  the circumstance. Furthermore, he promises that he will strengthen and help us; he will hold us up with his victorious hand. As we face obstacles, we should always remember God. The “God Factor” is the solution to our problems. But fear distracts us from seeing this truth: “ Don’t love money; ...

It Shall Not Prosper!

Image
“...No weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the LORD...” (Isaiah 54:17) It Shall Not Prosper Today’s Scripture doesn’t say that we won’t have difficulties. That’s not reality. It says, “The problem may form, people may talk, you may get a negative medical report, but you can stay in peace, knowing it’s not going to prosper against you.” Because you’re God’s child, because you’re in the secret place of the Most High, God has a hedge of protection, mercy, and favor around you that the enemy cannot cross. No person, no sickness, no trouble, and no force of darkness can stop God’s plan for your life. When you face these challenges and you’re tempted to worry, tell yourself: “This problem may have formed, they may be trying to make me look bad, but I’m not worried. This medical report may not look good, but I have a promise from Almighty God that it is not going to prosper. He has me in th...

How Do You Face the Reality of Eternity?

Image
How Do You Face the Reality of Eternity? “ For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life ” (John 3:16). “ The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them ” (John 3:35–36). Many people make the mistake of developing perceptions and convictions based only on what they see and observe. Although they may be sincere in their beliefs, when they base their convictions solely on the observable, they are likely to make wrong choices that can ultimately lead to destruction. It is vitally important to see all that pertains to life from God’s perspective. Each of us must face the reality of ETERNITY. We may try to ignore it, minimize it, or refuse to listen to anything about it. However, such actions will not remove the reality of its existence. “… but it has now been reveale...
