What Are You Seeking!

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Matthew 6:33
What Are You Seeking?
In Luke 5, when Peter obeyed Jesus’ word to let down his nets even though he’d fished all night and caught nothing, his nets began to break from such a large number of fish. Realizing who Jesus was and the miracle that had happened, Peter fell at Jesus’ knees in worship. Even though the catch was very valuable and could have been Peter’s focus, Peter showed by his actions that he was more interested in Jesus than success. He recognized the source of all good things was in his boat and that the goal was not the fish but to fulfill his purpose as a servant of the Most High God.

God has exactly what you need for each season of your life. If you keep God first place, He’ll add everything you need. The psalmist says, “Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing” (Psalm 34:10). The key is to not seek the blessing, but seek the Blesser. Keep Him first place, seek His kingdom and His righteousness, and the blessings you need will seek you. It will be more than you’ve imagined.
A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that I can come to You by faith, knowing that as I seek You and Your kingdom and righteousness, You will provide everything I need. Thank You for the blessings and favor that are mine as I keep You first place in my life. I believe that I will lack no good thing. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
