Focus on God’s Word!

Image
Focus on God’s Word Scripture: Psalm 19:7–8 “The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.”  (Psalm 19:7–8) Focusing on what the Spirit desires is critical to having Son Power work in and through us. Such focus leads to a progressive transformation of the soul to be more Christlike in attitude, desire, and behavior. It is through the promises of God that we are able to tap into his divine plans and purposes. His Word gives us the wisdom we need to make right choices. Meditating on the promises of God revives our soul, makes us wise, brings joy to our heart, and gives us insight. It is through His Word that we learn that we are living in a perishing world and that we have the opportunity to convert the world’s perishable items of  time, talent, and treasure  i...

Psalms 34!

Image
Psalm 34: Today’s reading is a prayer that acknowledges being saved by God, and God’s goodness and greatness are praised. The writer affirms that God hears the cries of the righteous but opposes those who do evil. All who obey the Lord will lack nothing good. Today’s Key Verse: Psalm 34:8 GNT Find out for yourself how good the LORD is. Happy are those who find safety with him. Read 34  I will always thank the Lord;     I will never stop praising him. 2  I will praise him for what he has done;     may all who are oppressed listen and be glad! 3  Proclaim with me the Lord's greatness;     let us praise his name together! 4  I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me;     he freed me from all my fears. 5  The oppressed look to him and are glad;     they will never be disappointed. 6  The helpless call to him, and he answers;   ...

All Things Have Become New!

Image
All Things Have Become New Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17 “ If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. ” (2 Corinthians 5:17) “ Then He who sat on the throne said, ‘Behold, I make all things new.’ And He said to me, ‘Write, for these words are true and faithful.’ ” (Revelation 21:5) Truly, we serve a God who is always doing something new! The Bible teaches that when we are born of the Spirit of God we: are qualified to share in the inheritance of the saints are delivered from the power of the evil one do not come into judgment pass from death to eternal life are transferred into a new paradigm of the kingdom of Jesus Christ in whom we have the forgiveness of sin It is a new life! However, God has not finished making all things new. The time is coming when the present earth and heavens will also pass away, and he will make a new heaven and earth. This world is passing away; the rulers and wisdom of this age are com...

Psalms 150!

Image
Psalm 150: In today’s psalm, a full orchestra of musical instruments is to be joined by a full choir of voices, as “all living creatures” join the song of praise. Every verse begins with and includes the word “praise,” and the word appears thirteen times. Today’s Key Verse: Psalm 150:6 GNT Praise the LORD, all living creatures! Praise the LORD! Read 150  Praise the Lord! Praise God in his Temple!     Praise his strength in heaven! 2  Praise him for the mighty things he has done.     Praise his supreme greatness. 3  Praise him with trumpets.     Praise him with harps and lyres. 4  Praise him with drums and dancing.     Praise him with harps and flutes. 5  Praise him with cymbals.     Praise him with loud cymbals. 6  Praise the Lord, all living creatures! Praise the Lord! Reflect Music and musical instruments are mentioned frequently in th...

From Weakness to Son Power!

Image
From Weakness to Son Power Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:42–44 “Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever. Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength.   They are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, there are also spiritual bodies.”  (1 Corinthians 15:42–44) “ Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear! ” (Matthew 13:43) “ You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. ” (1 John 4:4) “ But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”  (Isaiah 40:31) Those who embrace the  principle...

Heals Your Diseases!

Image
Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:2–3 Heals Your Diseases One of the names of God in the Scripture is Jehovah Rapha, which means “the Lord your healer.” Some believers believe for their healing, that “by Jesus’ stripes you were healed,” and receive a divine touch as my mother did with her cancer when there was nothing the doctors could do medically speaking. Others get healed with the help of medicine, doctors and experts, which we’re grateful for. But God is the healer. Medicine can help you get well, but only God can heal you. It’s not God or medicine; it’s God and medicine. Where else did the doctors and medical experts get the wisdom to invent such amazing medicines, procedures, and devices that help us get well? Where did they get the insight, the knowledge, and the creativity? That didn’t come from the enemy. Every good thing comes from the Father above. That is the hand of God. Ultima...

You Can Shine Like a Star Forever!

Image
You Can Shine Like a Star Forever! Scripture: Daniel 12:3 “Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.”  (Daniel 12:3) You have the potential to be a real star for all of eternity, shining in all of the brilliance of a glorified body. Those who are engaged in turning many to righteousness will shine even more brilliantly, according to this passage and other passages of Scripture. Since the Word of God and the souls of people will be the only things to last forever, it makes sense for us to spend our  time, talent, and treasure —the three Ts—to win as many people to Jesus Christ as possible. The eternal factor, that all of the human race has to consider, is the most important decision an individual faces. It determines our  eternal destiny ! In the Proverbs we are exhorted to seek wisdom. Such wisdom includes being involved in winning souls for Christ by helping in thi...

A Time to Give Thanks!

Image
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. Psalm 100:4 A Time to Give Thanks Today is a special day for us to give thanks to God for the good things He has done in our land, in our lives, and in the lives of our family members. When you take the time to pause and remember, you can see those times in your life when God brought you victory, brought you success. When you remember that He is providing for all your needs and give thanks to God for who He is and the miracles He has done in your life, you will be transformed. And let us remember that thanksgiving is an attitude of our heart. Living with an attitude of gratitude means you don’t just thank God for what He did in the past, you also thank Him for what He will do in the future. You thank Him for opening new doors, for increasing you, and for bringing the right people into your life. When you thank God in advance, that’s really a declaration of faith. Live every day w...

The Blessing of Obeying God!

Image
The Blessings of Obeying God Scripture: John 2:5 “Do whatever he tells you.”  (John 2:5) Obedience to God results in blessing. Many times we experience a blessing far beyond any reasonable expectation. This happened when Jesus turned the water into wine at a wedding feast. The people ran out of wine and Jesus’s mother told the servants that whatever Jesus told them to do, they should do. When they obeyed the instructions of Jesus to pour the water into the large jars, Jesus turned the water in the best-tasting wine of the wedding feast. This was totally unexpected since the best wine was usually consumed at the beginning of the celebration. Professions of faith mean little without confirming acts of obedience that are in response to our relationship with Jesus Christ. Our obedience proves that we love him. As we practice listening to him and obeying him, he will reveal more of himself to us. Not only that, but he will also work on behalf of those who have a heart that is loy...

BE HOLY!

Image
BE HOLY But like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior. — 1 Peter 1:15 To be holy means to be set apart and unlike the world. It is to be peculiar and cut out from the rest. In other words, as children of the King, we are to look different, talk different, and be different.  One way I have chosen to show I am set apart is to continue to grow in the Word of God and let the mind of Christ be my mind , I know some people think this is a bit strange, but I believe I am called to be what God says a sent-out one or messenger, of Yeshua in the earth. I have to be set apart to convincingly convey the unique ministry God has given me.  The same is true for you. I am not suggesting you grow  in God’s Word but that you live separate from the world and fully unto Jesus. By doing so, others will recognize that you are different, and God will use your uniqueness to draw people to Himself. Of course, this may cost you. Some may mock and re...

Stay Focused, Daddy! Go Get The Pizza!

Image
“Stay Focused, Daddy! Go Get the Pizza!” “Jesus said to them, ‘My food is to do the will of Him who sent me, and to finish His work.’”  (John 4:34) My son requested that I go get pizza for dinner . As I was leaving the house, I stopped to have a conversation with someone else. That is when I heard the words, “Stay focused, Daddy! Go get the pizza!” What an illustration this is for the person practicing  Kingdom  of God We need to stay focused on the important things in life. Jesus was on a mission. His will was to do the will of him who sent him, and to finish the work he was sent to do. We should have the same desire and goal. That is, we want to finish the work God has gifted us to do before we leave this world. We are on a mission: a mission to help fulfill the Great Commission. Questions to ask yourself: Have I captured the vision of the mission God has gifted me to do? Am I focused in some way in helping to fulfill the Great Commission?

A Specific Place of Blessing!

Image
Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah: “Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.” 1 Kings 17:2–4 A Specific Place of Blessing The prophet Elijah told King Ahab that because the people had turned away from Jehovah and were worshipping idols, there wouldn’t be rain for years. Then God spoke today’s Scripture to Elijah. Notice there’s a specific safe place where God has commanded you to be blessed—not maybe, not hope so. No, He’s commanded the ravens to feed you. He’s commanded provision, commanded resources, commanded the right people to be there. But here’s the key: The blessing was by a specific brook and provision was by ravens. If Elijah had stayed in Samaria, thinking that God would take care of him there, he would have missed the blessing. When God tells you to do something, don’t reason it out, don’t ask friends, and don’t come up with alternati...

Your World is Passing Away Before Your Very Eyes!

Image
Your World is Passing Away Before Your Very Eyes Scripture: 1 Corinthians 7:31 “For the form of this world is passing away.”  (1 Corinthians 7:31) Time is passing quickly. This has become a stark reality for me. The company I used to work for is now gone, having been purchased by another company. My formal work career has passed away. The house we lived in for years has been sold and is now gone. When I look in the mirror in the morning, the evidence is increasing that even my body is passing away. When you think about it, we are only “renting” or leasing our bodies for a period of time. We are going to have to turn them in at some point. The question facing those of us who realize the importance of the brevity of life is,  how should I be spending the time I have left in this world? Jesus tells us not to labor for the food that perishes, but for that which leads to eternal life. This makes me think about how I leverage what is perishing into the imperishable? How do I ...

You’re Under Construction!

Image
For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. Hebrews 3:4 You’re Under Construction You can’t find anyone in the Scripture who did something significant that didn’t have messy times, unfair times, times that didn’t make sense, times when it seemed as though they were disqualified. Abraham had God’s promise of a son and becoming the father of many nations, but think of the mess and dysfunction that he and Sarah lived through when they tried to bring Hagar into the fulfillment of that promise. God chose Moses to deliver the Israelites from slavery in Egypt, but he ended up fleeing to the wilderness and hiding for forty years after killing a man. God gave Joseph a dream of being a ruler, but he spent thirteen years as a slave and then a prisoner. Here’s the key: All of them were under God’s construction, and He worked out His plans for their lives. God, as our planner and builder, will allow things that we don’t understand, that look like mistakes, that ...
