How You See Yourself!

 

The angel of the LORD appeared to him and said, “Mighty hero, the LORD is with you!...Go with the strength you have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!” Judges 6:12, 14

How You See Yourself God called Gideon a mighty hero while he was hiding in a winepress, afraid, intimidated by the Midianite army. God called him to be a deliverer, a history maker, when he saw himself as limited, inferior, at a disadvantage, unable to do it. Gideon started making excuses. His weak, defeated mentality almost kept him from his destiny. After some more encouragement, he finally made this switch and saw himself as powerful. The question is, how do you see yourself? Do you see yourself as strong, confident, and favored, or as Gideon saw himself? Are you seeing everything else as powerful, but not yourself? One touch of God’s favor can turn around whatever you’re facing. You’re looking at how big your problem is. You need to start looking at how big your God is. He says He’s with you, and He has made you a mighty hero. When thoughts come telling you that you’re weak, not enough, at a disadvantage, just say, “You have the wrong person. I know who I am. I’m a child of the Most High God, and that makes me very powerful.”

A Prayer for Today “Father, thank You for the strength that rises within me whenever I remember how big You are and what You have done in my life. Thank You for the times You have delivered my mind from the clutter of fears and doubts. I believe that You are making me into a mighty hero. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
