 | Because of His Mercy | | Before Saul became the apostle Paul, he was the worst persecutor of the early church. He went around having believers arrested and put in prison. Of all people, he didn’t deserve God’s mercy, but God doesn’t give us what we deserve. We deserve the consequences, we deserve judgment, but God gives us mercy. He even knows how to make miracles out of our mistakes as He did through His transformation of Saul into an apostle.
The accusing voices will tell you, “You’re done. It’s your fault. You know you weren’t supposed to do it. You pursued the wrong thing and you just have to deal with the consequences.” No, God is so merciful that He’ll take your wrong and not only forgive you, but He’ll clean you up as well as your mess. It would be easy to live guilty and under condemnation, to not expect anything good. Stay in faith. God has mercy for that mistake. He can make a miracle out of that mess. He did it for Paul, and He can do it for you.
