“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’”
— Matthew 22:36–37 

Many people think loving God means acknowledging Him, attending church services, or giving financially to build His kingdom. Those are all good things, but loving God is far more than that. It means to put God first and make Him Lord in every area of our lives. 

There are some people who say they love God and do certain “Christian” things, but much of the time, they’re not even thinking about Him. This isn’t the fullness of the love that Father God is seeking. To love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength means there is no area we don’t include Him in. All means all; anything less is unacceptable. Jesus said, “He who loves father or mother…son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.” Messiah Jesus is either the Lord of all, or He’s not our Lord at all. 

Beloved one, we need to cultivate the Lordship of Yeshua—in our thoughts, our emotions, our actions—every day, all the time. Jesus will not be second best. He wants us to give Him our all. He loves us too much and is too holy to settle for anything else. If we truly love God with all our heart, we will have clarity in our lives.

Stay in Balance!

  Then Jesus said, “Let’s go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile.” He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn’t even have time to eat. Mark 6:31 Stay in Balance Everywhere Jesus went, He was healing people, teaching in the synagogues, pouring Himself into His disciples. People made constant demands on His time and energies. Imagine how He felt. As the Son of God, He had this incredible power, anointing, wisdom, so much to offer. Yet at times, when He was exhausted, He would go away from the crowds and get alone so He could be refreshed. Despite the pressing needs around Him, Jesus knew that He had to take care of His temple.  If the Son of God had to be alone and rest, if He couldn’t meet all the demands of the people around Him, why do we think we can go all the time and be everything for everyone?
