            Hidden with Christ

For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:3)

 once heard a preacher say, “Whatever you have will blow off on the way up or burn up on the way down.” There is a somber truth in that observation. When you die and go to heaven, your cares and concerns and possessions of this world will have no impact whatsoever.

The psalmist realized this when he wrote, “Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” (Psalm 73:25–26).

Our inheritance is Jesus Christ. Someday we will be just like him. “As for me, I will be vindicated and will see your face; when I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness” (Psalm 17:15). Not only will we be satisfied, but we also will be ecstatic!

In 1 John 3:2 we read, “Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. Weknow thatwheneveritis revealedwe will be like him, becausewe will see him just as he is.”

What a prospect to anticipate! When we leave this world, our glorified bodies are going to be something to behold. Jesus said, “Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father” (Matthew 13:43).

We want to be motivated by God’s Word. We want our lives to be hidden in Christ. We want to be empowered by the Holy Spirit. We want to find ways to share our time, talent, and treasure in our areas of influence and in ways that will glorify God. Remember this truth: “The wise will shine like the brightness of the heavenly expanse. And those bringing many to righteousness will be like the stars forever and ever” (Daniel 12:3).

Today, ask yourself:

In what ways is the truth that my life is hidden with Christ making a difference that will echo into eternity?

These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature… (2 Peter 1:4) Don’t Water it Down All of us have dreams we’re believing for, but too often we get discouraged and quit believing for the fullness of what’s in our heart. Give Cheerfully!

        Give Cheerfully “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”  (2 Corinthians 9:7) When giving is done with the right attitude, it can be a gateway for God to move in significant ways in our lives. It is important to remember that it is not the amount we give that matters so much as it is the attitude that characterizes our giving. God loves it when we give out of a cheerful and grateful heart. God’s loving of a cheerful giver results in God taking action in our lives. Scripture states unequivocally that God will make all spiritual and earthly blessing abound to us so we can multiply our efforts for the kingdom.
