Bold Prayer!

Image
There has never been a day like it before or since, a day when the LORD listened to a human being. Joshua 10:14 Bold Prayers In Joshua 10, Joshua was winning a battle against five armies, but darkness was coming and the enemy would escape, so he prayed a bold prayer. He asked God to stop the sun in place. In the natural, there’s no possibility of this, but God created the solar system. He spoke the universe into existence. He can stop what He wants to stop and still cause it to work. The next verse simply says, “So the sun and the moon stood still until the Israelites defeated their enemies.” No big explanation for this amazing occurrence. God is not intimidated by bold prayers, and He’s not at a loss to figure out how to bring about His purpose. Stopping the sun was no big deal. Are you praying bold prayers? Maybe not for the sun to stop, but how about for your child to do something awesome, for you to set a new standard for your family, for you to accomplish that dream that seems f

Serving the Kingdom!

Image
Serving the Kingdom You must actively help the hungry and feed the oppressed. Then your light will dispel the darkness, and your darkness will be transformed into noonday. The Lord will continually lead you; he will feed you even in parched regions. He will give you renewed strength, and you will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring that continually produces water.  (Isaiah 58:10–11) Living a fulfilled life is the desire of every human being. Many of us attempt to find life in the wrong way, in the wrong places, and in following the wrong pursuits. And the result is unhappiness. The best antidote for fighting depression, anxiety, fear, and other negative emotions that can cripple us, is to discover what we have been designed for, and to use ourselves in conformance to our design. In some way it is important that we help meet the needs of other people, spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally. We have been designed for eternity. God has a purpose for us, and we need t

Put It in God’s Hands!

Image
Trust GOD from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Proverbs 3:5 Put It in God’s Hands We all face things we don’t understand, things that don’t seem fair, but you have to know that God will not mismanage your life. He will not allow hardships and bad breaks that don’t have any purpose. He doesn’t just sit back and say, “I can’t believe that just happened to you. Too bad.” He’s ordering your steps. Nothing happens without His permission. He’s promised that all things will work together for our good. Sure, there are things we don’t understand, things that don’t make sense. But if you stay in faith, don’t get bitter, and just keep doing the right thing, you’ll see it all come together in time. Today’s Scripture says to simply trust God and don’t try to figure out everything that happens along the way. If you try to figure out all the things that happen that don’t make sense, you’ll get confused and discouraged. Put it in God’s hands. “God, I believe

Sin Power Is Sourced in God !

Image
Son Power Is Sourced in God For I know that through your prayers and God’s provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance. (Philippians 1:19) We experience Son Power through the provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ and it provides the way for our deliverance, both in this world and the world to come.  In  Kingdom of God   we learn through Scripture, and we practice keeping Jesus Christ as the focus of our life. We realize that everything is sourced in him. His Spirit supplies the peace, love, patience, and kindness we need. He also has the power to make all things turn out for our good. He is the God of provision and of all power. We learn to communicate with God through prayer, which simply means talking with him. We learn to acknowledge that all things are sourced in him. We admit that without his provision, we can do nothing.  As we experience Son Power, we have a growing sense of expectation that God is at work. God is always w

Unlimited Supply!

Image
Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few.” 2 Kings 4:3 Unlimited Supply In 2Kings 4, the creditors were coming to take a poor widow’s two sons as the payment for her bills. All she had of value was a small jar of oil. The prophet Elisha told her to ask her neighbors for empty jars. He specifically said, “Don’t ask for just a few.” When she poured her oil in them, it kept flowing until all the jars were full. She was able to sell the oil and had plenty of money to pay her debts. The principle is that God is going to fill all the containers you bring Him. It’s not a supply problem; it’s a capacity problem. Too often we let disappointments, delays, and things that haven’t worked out lower our expectations. We’re not stretching, not believing for great things. Are you putting limits on what God wants to do in your life? Are you focused on what you think can happen only in your ability? God has an unlimited supply for all your needs. Don’

Avoiding Mission Drift!

Image
Avoiding Mission Drift “ Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour. ” (Matthew 25:13) We are counseled in Scripture to watch for many things. We are particularly told to be on the lookout for the return of the Lord, which can happen at any time. In the world of nonprofit organizations, the term  mission drift  is used when an organization either finds that it has moved away from the organization’s main mission, or the organization consciously moves in a direction away from its mission statement. As Christians, we also need to guard against mission drift. Converterlators are on mission directed by God. I developed the following WATCH acrostic to help me to stay focused on God’s mission: W—WORD—Pay attention to God’s Word for direction. “Moreover, we possess the prophetic word as an altogether reliable thing. You do well if you pay attentionto thisas you wouldto a light shining in a murky place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.” (2

One Thing!

Image
One Thing “One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to meditate in His temple.” —Psalm 27:4 This verse is one of my favorite scriptures in the Bible. David makes it clear that there is one thing each of us should seek above everything else. Then he tells us what that one thing is—to dwell in God’s presence and experience His beauty all the days of our lives. David, the king of Israel who would become known as Israel’s greatest leader, wanted above all else to continually experience God’s presence. He was saying in essence, “I can live without everything else. I just want this one thing from You—that I might dwell in Your house and in Your presence all the days of my life.” With all David experienced, all the victories he had won and all the accolades showered on him, more than anything else, he craved God’s presence in his life. And for David, God’s presence was man

Walk in the Spirit!

Image
Walk in the Spirit I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.  (Galatians 5:16) I received a question from a subscriber of the 31-day  Kingdom of God Applied  devotionals about how to overcome a particular moral issue in his life that was defeating them. Here are several steps an individual can take to overcome sin.  The first step is to  confess : “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous, forgivingus our sins and cleansingus from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). Confession includes repentance from continuing or practicing the sin. Second,  ask God for the power  to overcome temptation and sin by the work of the Holy Spirit:  “Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live ” (Romans 8:12–13) We ask God to fill us with his Holy Spirit and to t
