Holy God, I worship you with all my heart. Your instruction is the sure way to happiness and I eagerly seek to understand your teachings. Help me to keep my life pure by obeying your commands. Amen.

Don’t Forget to Pray!

Image
Don’t Forget to Pray! Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the temple of the Lord and spread it out before the Lord. And Hezekiah prayed to the Lord.  (Isaiah 37:14–15) Someone once told me that it takes three things to accomplish the purposes of God in this world: prayer, leadership, and money. Often, in our haste to get started on a project, we forget to pray for God’s blessing and direction. This is a big mistake. Hezekiah, after receiving a threat to his kingdom from the King of Assyria, took the letter defining the threat, went to the temple, spread it out before the Lord, and prayed about the problem. In response, God moved in a miraculous way and destroyed the enemy. The power to change, the power to overcome obstacles, the power to overcome sin, and the power to defeat the evil one is sourced in almighty God alone. Hebrews 4:16 tells us, “Therefore let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace whene

Son Power in Us!

Image
Son Power in Us O Lord, you make us secure, for even all we have accomplished, you have done for us.  (Isaiah 26:12) For since the world began, no ear has heard and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for him!  (Isaiah 64:4) For the one bringing forth in you both the desire and the effort—for the sake of his good pleasure—is God.  (Philippians 2:13) Certainly the  Lord  watches the whole earth carefullyand is ready to strengthen those who are devoted to him.  (2 Chronicles 16:9) It is important that we live our lives in constant communion with the Holy Spirit. This is a central theme throughout the New Testament. Throughout the entire Bible we see that God works in and through the lives of those who wait and hope in him with an attitude of expectation. Our responsibility is to keep our hearts loyal to him and not to something else. It is so easy to become entangled in the things that are not of God! Every day we need to ask the Holy Spirit to fill us with his

Just Watch!

Image
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Has my arm lost its power? Now you will see whether or not my word comes true!” Numbers 11:23 Just Watch When  the Israelites were in the desert, they complained bitterly to Moses that they were sick of manna and wanted meat to eat. There were no grocery stores out there, no meat markets, no Uber Eats to feed the two million people. God responded, “Moses, just watch. I’ll give them meat for a whole month.” From a logical perspective, Moses stated that it was way beyond impossible, but God is not limited by what limits us. God shifted the winds and millions of quail flew into their camp, enough for a month in the middle of the desert. If you take the limits off God, He’ll cause opportunity to find you. Good breaks and the right people will chase you down. Don’t do as Moses did and tell God all the reasons why you can’t be blessed, get well, or accomplish your dream. You’re studying the facts from a human point of view and being limited by your logic. Have

The Lord Will Provide!

Image
The Lord Will Provide So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”  (Genesis 22:14) What an incredibly intense encounter with God! Abraham was told by God to sacrifice his son, Isaac, as a burnt offering. Nothing was more precious to Abraham than his son. But Abraham had faith in God, and was obedient to the point of preparing to sacrifice Isaac when God. At the last moment, God provided the lamb needed for the sacrifice. What can we learn from Abraham’s encounter with God? We are called to sacrifice the big “I” at the foot of the cross. We do this by trusting in God’s provision for our salvation. We renounce, reject, and repent from trusting in self-justification by works, behavior, or anything else for our salvation. Instead, through faith, we accept the gift of Jesus’s sacrifice of his own life on our behalf. God has provided for us. We need the power of the cross to crucify our sinful desires th

Delete the Old Story!

Image
For she kept saying to herself, If I only touch His garment, I shall be restored to health. Matthew 9:21 Delete the Old Story In Mark 5, a lady had been sick for twelve years, spent all her money going to many doctors, but nothing helped. Her story was: “This sickness is permanent. There’s nothing else I can do.” But then she heard that Jesus was passing through her town. Despite how she felt, despite the circumstances and all she’d been told, she deleted her old story and started telling herself a new story. She said, “When I touch His garments, I’m going to be healed.” Faith began to rise in her heart. She kept saying to herself, “Healing is coming.” Pressing through the crowd, she touched His robe and was healed instantly. It’s easy to let defeated thoughts, “can’t do it” thoughts, “it’s never going to work out” thoughts, play in your mind. You have to say, “No, I’m deleting this story. I will be the exception. I will get well. I will see my family restored. I will break this addi

Soaking in the Word of God !

Image
Soaking in the Word of God But Mary treasured up all these words, pondering in her heart what they might mean . (Luke 2:19) Can you imagine Mary’s reaction when the shepherds told her about the supernatural events they experienced when Jesus was born? We learn an important lesson from Mary in this passage. She treasured and pondered all of these things in her heart. When we treasure things in our heart, they are special to us and we think of them often. They are the things we reflect upon. These thoughts develop into convictions that impact our behavior. In  Kingdom of God  we believe in soaking our heart in the Word of God. The heart absorbs whatever it is soaking in, so a cursory reading of the Word of God is not enough. We must treasure the words we read and ponder what they are saying to us. Scripture is living and powerful; it impacts how we think, feel, and act. As we soak our minds and hearts in the Word of God, we will be empowered by the Holy Spirit to apply them to our live

A Word of Encouragement!

Image
“Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them.” Isaiah 3:10 A Word of Encouragement Everyone in your life is fighting a battle. They’re dealing with something. They may not show it, but there’s a load they’re carrying. Thoughts are telling them that it’s not going to work out. It is always good to pray for others, but today’s Scripture also says, “Say to the righteous that it’s going to work out. Everything’s going to be okay.” Just give a word of encouragement when they’re under a heavy load. Just let them know that you care, remind them that God is still on the throne. You don’t have to have all the answers to their problems. It’s easy to feel intimidated because sometimes the situation is so complicated. Different people may be involved from very different backgrounds, and you’re not sure what to tell them about what they are going through. But you don’t have to solve the problem; that’s God’s job. Your part is to just nourish their soul and say, “I care about you. I’m sta

Take Tome to Pray!

Image
Take Time to Pray Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God. And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6–7) I was having a conversation with a friend and was sharing about some of the difficulties I was facing. As I finished talking, he said to me, “Fix it with Philippians 4:6.” Wow! Each one of us faces turmoil and challenges and disappointments that we need help in overcoming. Philippians 4:6–7 gives us a formula to face these situations head-on. The key to overcoming challenges is learning how to pray. Everything good is sourced in God, and all of his promises have their “yes” or fulfillment in the person of Jesus Christ. Because of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, we have a relationship with God, our heavenly Father! He hears our prayers and requests. He is waiting for us to make our needs known to him. He will

How Great Is He?

Image
“LORD, the God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. Power and might are in your hand, and no one can withstand you.” 2 Chronicles 20:6 How Great Is He? Many times when the people faced a big challenge in the Old Testament, they started their prayer by talking about the greatness of God. In today’s Scripture, King Jehoshaphat had three armies surrounding Judah. He gathered the people at the city square in Jerusalem to seek God. He didn’t say, “God, where are You? We’re about to be captured.” He said, “Lord, You alone are God. You are the ruler of the nations. You are powerful and mighty. No one can stand against you. We remember how you brought us through war, through famine, through disease. Now we’re asking you, O great God, to deliver us from these mighty armies.” When you remind yourself of who you’re dealing with, you won’t pray weak prayers. You’ll pray boldly. You’ll ask God to do the impossible, what seems unlik

Living a Powerful - Driven Life!

Image
Living a Power-Driven Life Therefore, if you have been raised with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Keep thinking about things above, not things on the earth, for you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.  (Colossians 3:1–3) If you are seriously putting into practice the principles of  Kingdom of God  , you are living a power-driven life.  The Holy Spirit is working in your life to bring you into conformity with God’s will in order to accomplish his purposes in this world. You are seeking things above. Your life is increasingly hidden in Christ as you strategically invest your time, talent, and treasure into advancing the kingdom of God. This is how Son Power works. As our lives are hidden in Christ, the Holy Spirit manifests itself more and more. We desire to do the will of God. Our passions and desires are conformed to God’s passions and desires. We are transformed from being “getters” to becoming “givers” who

Take Your Promiseed Land !

Image
They answered Joshua, “We will do whatever you command us, and we will go wherever you send us.” Joshua 1:16 Take Your Promised Land When God brought the Israelites out of slavery and took them to the Promised Land, He promised that all they had to do was go in and take the land. But the Israelites were too afraid of the people in the land and turned away. They spent forty years in the desert running from things that God promised they could conquer. The next generation of Israelites came back to the Promised Land, saw the same giants and fortified cities, but had a different attitude. They refused to spend their lives wandering in the desert. They declared to Joshua that they would do whatever he commanded, face the opposition, and take the same land their parents could have had. Don’t be like the Israelites and spend years of your life running from things God has already given you victory over. You may need to confront pride, confront a bad attitude, or confront compromise. When you

Ride the Wave!

Image
Ride the Wave The one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.  (Galatians 6:8, BSB) It is the Holy Spirit who empowers us to live the Christian life. We soak our heart in the Word of God and learn to sow to the Spirit as he imparts his life to us.  One of the major ways we sow to the Spirit is to pray to the Lord verses of Scripture we have memorized and meditated on. As we allow our heart to delight in the truths we glean from the Word, the power of the Spirit cleanses and empowers us for our daily tasks. We flow with the Spirit on the avenues of life as he navigates our way through the day’s activity. Think about the surfer who looks for the next great wave to ride. The rider focuses all attention on the movement of the water to determine when, where, and how to jump on the board to catch the best wave. We too focus our attention. We focus on God’s Word and the Holy Spirit to determine when, where, and how to catch God’s vision for us. Look for where

PRAY!

Image
Lord God, fill my mind with your wisdom so that I walk in your ways and discern the difference between good and evil. Teach me to obey you and to do what is in accord with your will. In your holy name, I pray. Amen.

Born of the Spirit!

Image
Born of the Spirit “The wind blows wherever it will, and you hear the sound it makes, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”  (John 3:8)  These are the words of Jesus. The working of the Holy Spirit is like the wind; we cannot see it or control it, but we see its effects. God can do anything he wants to do. He cannot be put in a box. When we are born of the Spirit of God, he opens our spiritual eyes so we can see and understand his Word, but we do not always have a clear picture as to how this is accomplished.  We are born of the Spirit, not by the will of man. He has chosen us to go and bear fruit for the expansion of his kingdom in order to bring glory to himself. We want the Spirit to move greatly in our life so we can be productive in the kingdom of the God. We want to be like the seed that produces a huge crop, as in the parable that Jesus told of the sower and the seed: “But as for the seed sown on good soil

Out Power Source!

Image
Our Power Source God has spoken plainly, and I have heard it many times: Power, O God, belongs to you.  (Psalm 62:11, NLT) Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. ” (2 Corinthians 12:9) It is amazing what lengths people will go to in order to gain access to those they perceive as “powerful people.” But the psalmist had it right: power belongs to God. He is the one who can bring about the change we need in our lives and in the circumstances we encounter in this turbulent world. In so many ways we are weak, powerless, and vulnerable. However, we have been born to a living hope! Peter wrote, “Blessed bethe God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he gave us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, that is, intoan inheritance imperishable, undefiled, and unfading. It is reserved in heaven for

The Secret to a Changed Life!

Image
When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. “Zacchaeus!” he said. “Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.” Luke 19:5 The Secret to a Changed Life Zacchaeus was the despised chief tax collector in the region, known for cheating people and called a notorious sinner. Yet when Jesus could have spent time with any of the local religious leaders, He chose Zacchaeus, which they found disgusting. Religion says, “He’s too bad. He’s scum. Stay away.” Sometimes religion portrays an image of God where you can’t measure up, and it uses guilt and your feelings of unworthiness to try to get you to live right. But God says, “I gladly welcome Zacchaeus. What he has done does not cancel out My mercy.” When Zacchaeus came to understand that God loved him unconditionally, even when he had made mistakes, he decided to change his ways and salvation came to him. Sometimes we think that if we tell people all they’re doing wrong and make them feel guilty, they’ll ch
