Broken the Enemy’s Teeth!

Image
The lions may roar and growl, yet the teeth of the great lions are broken. Job 4:10, NIV Broken the Enemy’s Teeth lions are very territorial. One reason they roar is to invoke fear, to intimidate and keep other animals off their territory. The same principle is true with our enemy, who “prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” When you start to take new ground, when you go after your healing, your freedom, or your abundance, the enemy thinks that’s his territory, so you’ll hear the roar louder than ever. He’s hoping to intimidate you, to where you turn back and don’t go after what God put in your heart. How many people hear the roar and give up on their dream, quit believing for their healing, or think they can never come out of debt? Have a new perspective. The roar is a sign that you’re moving toward what God promised. You wouldn’t hear the roar if you weren’t about to see favor and influence as you’ve never seen. You have to get in agreement with God and not

Godly Attitudes!

Image
Godly Attitudes As we begin to make intentional decisions about our time, talent, and treasure, our attitudes about life begin to change as well. When we reflect upon the Scriptures, it’s not long before we recognize that we see the world in a way that contrasts sharply from those who do not have God’s view. This is incredibly important because attitudes determine thoughts; thoughts govern feelings; and feelings guide actions. Those actions, of course, reinforce our attitudes, so that what we have in  Kingdom of God  is the opportunity to break negative cycles of behavior and begin positive ones. People, of course, try to do this every day, but it’s simply not possible through the limits of human effort. One of the greatest insights of the Scriptures is validated through our simple observation of this world: No matter how hard we try, we fall into the same ruts. We make the same mistakes. We can’t break the cycle of human sin—unless we allow Christ to break it for us. So we’r

Victory Starts in Your Thinking!

Image
“Every woman will ask for jewels, silver, gold, and the finest of clothes from her Egyptian master’s wife and neighbors. You will clothe your sons and daughters with the best of Egypt!”  Exodus 3:22 Victory Starts in Your Thinking After 430 years of Israelite slavery in Egypt, you can imagine how they had become comfortable being victims. It’s all they’d known, generation after generation. When God delivered the Israelites, He caused their oppressors to give them gold, silver, and fine clothing as payback. But why did He tell the parents to dress their sons and daughters in the jewelry and fine clothing when they were about to go into the desert? It’s because God wanted the children to stop seeing themselves as poor, limited victims. They had to see themselves as victors to enter the Promised Land. Victory starts in your thinking. As long as you think you’re a victim, it’s going to limit your destiny. You won’t pray bold prayers, you won’t believe for big dreams, and you won’t expect

Soak, Sow, Flow!

Image
Soak, Sow, Flow As  Kingdom of God  thinkers, we want to know God and need to press on to experience him. We want to grow with the growth that comes from him. And as we grow, we see that God is preparing to do something amazing in our lives. He may bring to light a new opportunity, or a new revelation of himself, or even provide a resource that is beyond anything we could ask, think, or imagine. So, how do we go about experiencing God and growing in our relationship with him?  The most important source of our knowledge of God is found in his Word, the Bible.  We need to read it, study it, and apply it to our lives. We need to memorize key verses that will help us stay focused on the things God wants us to do in his world. As a direct result, our heart and mind is influenced by our understanding and application of what we internalize from the Bible. One of the ways that I have found to incorporate God’s Word into my life is through a process I call  soak, sow, and fl

He Is Your Hiding Place!

Image
He Is Your Hiding Place “You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble.” —Psalm 32:7 Years ago, there was a popular worship song that you may remember titled “You Are My Hiding Place.” The lyrics echo the words in today’s verse, and the song is powerful. We can’t know HaShem as our “hiding place” unless we come to a place of dependency, weakness, and humility. The psalmist knew that. He wrote from a place of trust, clinging, and dependency, “You preserve me from trouble.” When we realize our need for God’s protection and covering, we recognize that He is our only hiding place and that we can abide under the shadow of His wings, under the shelter of His protection. When we walk in this reality, we feel safe and secure, just like the psalmist. The truth is, we are vulnerable in this world outside of God. So many things are out of our control. At any moment, we could get struck by lightning, killed in

Trusting God!

Image
Trusting God Think about the word  trust  with me for a moment. What does it really mean?  What  do you trust in?  Who  do you trust? And what does your behavior show about your trust — in people and in things? A quick Google search turns up this definition of trust: “assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something; one in which  confidence  is placed.” Hmm … does that describe  your  trust  in God ? Do you have an  assured reliance  in his character, his ability, his strength? Do you have  confidence  in him? When we accept the salvation of Jesus Christ, it is the first step in becoming the kind of Converterlator God wants us to be. We begin a journey where life takes on a whole new perspective as we learn what the Bible has to tell us about God and his plan for our lives. Our view of life and our view of this world begin to change as the Spirit of God enlightens us through his Word about this temporary, perishing world a

PRAY!

Sovereign God, the outpouring of your Holy Spirit fills me with joy and wonder.  Empower me with your Holy Spirit to proclaim your message of love and salvation to those I encounter this day. May your Word go forth across cultures and in all the languages of the world so that people everywhere may learn of and experience your salvation. Amen.

KNOWING GOD!

Image
Knowing God Have you ever noticed that when relationships are right, great things can happen? I’ve even heard it said more than once that who you know is more important than what you know. The all-important relationship; it can either make you or break you, because it is often true that if you have the right connections, certain people can facilitate your way on the upward path of success. People can open doors of opportunity or remove obstacles blocking your way. Our relationship with God works in much the same way. The Bible tells us that life in this world and the world to come is all about having a growing   relationship   with almighty God. We are not talking here about a relationship of convenience or superficiality;   God wants an  intimate  relationship with us!  Jesus Christ came into the world to give us that relationship with God, and our decision to accept salvation through Christ has major implications for not only eternity, but for the time we have remaining in this wor

Lord God, clothe me today with your righteousness and with your mighty armor so that I am able to resist wicked spiritual forces and all that is evil. By the power of your Holy Spirit, keep me faithful and alert, and lead me in prayer for all God’s people. Amen.

Designed by God!

Image
Designed by God We all want to make a difference. We want to be involved in doing something that will make our lives count. And yes, we often want some kind of recognition and other people’s praise for what we do. But it’s important to remember that our eternal significance is not found in doing things that others see as important. God wants us to experience  real  significance; and that significance only comes through his unconditional love and total acceptance, and our fulfilling his plan for our lives. Psalm 139:13–16 tells us: For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Each one of us has

Possess Your Land!

Image
So Joshua said to the Israelites: “How long will you wait before you begin to take possession of the land that the LORD, the God of your ancestors, has given you?” Joshua 18:3 Possess Your Land God had promised to give the Israelites the land of Canaan, but they had to go in and possess the Promised Land. However, instead of taking their swords out and going in, knowing that God would give them the victory, they were afraid of the giants and fortified cities. When Joshua asked them, “How long will you wait?” he was saying that God would do His part, but they had to initiate the blessing, the favor, the victory. Most of the time, God says to us, “I’ll give you the healing, restore your marriage, turn your child around, if you start to believe and speak My Word, which is sharper than a two-edged sword.” It’s a spiritual battle. Standing in faith and declaring His promises will part Red Seas, break addictions, defeat the sickness, and open doors you never dreamed would open. To possess

A New Identity in Christ!

Image
A New Identity in Christ Who are you, really? As you consider this question, what (or who) is influencing your answer? Your relationships? Your vocation? Your self-perception? Your possessions? We often are unsure about who we are because we use what others think as our point of reference. What we do is often measured and judged by them—either as acceptable or unacceptable—and we allow our performance to define us. However, the only reliable source of our identity is God! He created each one of us, loves us, sent His son, Jesus Christ, to die for us, and transforms our lives through His Holy Spirit! In fact, at the moment we receive Jesus as our Savior and Lord, we are born again spiritually and our identity is radically changed. Second Corinthians 5:17 tells us, “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! ”  . When we allow God to define our identity we stand on a sure foundation for a life of peace, c

He is There!

Image
Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. Psalm 139:7–8 He Is There I love the fact that the psalmist says you can never fall so low or get yourself in a place where you’re beyond God’s reach, that God won’t be there to pick you up. He doesn’t hold your mistakes against you. You’re not too far off course, and you haven’t failed too many times. Be encouraged that wherever you are in your life, whatever you’ve done, God is right there. He’s right there with mercy, forgiveness and hope – not with judgment or condemnation. God is there to free you from guilt, to release you from condemnation. He’s breathing on your life in a new way with fresh vision and fresh passion. New doors are about to open. What He started in your life, He’s going to finish. Now don’t write yourself off, and don’t write anyone else off. Don’t give up on, or quit praying for your loved ones. There’s no depth to which God won’t stoop
