Perishable to Imperishable!

Perishable to Imperishable

“The love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” (2 Corinthians 5:14–15)

The love of Christ compels us!

He died for us and rose again to give us right standing with God, not only to provide our way to heaven, but also to save us to do good works while we are still in this world.

He has gone ahead of us to prepare a place for us, and he is coming back to receive us, so we can be with him.

All of this motivates and enables us to take up our assigned places in his earthly kingdom to do his will until he comes to take us home.

What does this mean?

It means that we are so compelled by his love that we want to make sure his transforming power is at work in us, enabling us to convert the perishable things of this world into the imperishable inheritance of the kingdom.

Paul tells us, “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth” (ESV). We need to be heavenly minded, and at the same time earthly sensitive.

Do not be deceived by Satan to waste your time, talent, and treasure in this world. Set your mind on things above and use your “three Ts” to expand God’s kingdom.

Talk to God

Father, may the kingdom of God grow in my heart and mind. Help me to allow your Word and your Spirit to permeate all of my life. May the Holy Spirit motivate me, provide me with the capacity, and provide me with the discipline to live life in harmony with your will. Amen.
