Send Out the Light

“Send me your light and your faithful care, let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell.” (Psalm 43:3)
God empowers those he is using to accomplish his purposes in this world. As kingdom of God thinkers, we know that Christ is the light of the world, the source of life, and the fountain of life where we must spend time soaking our hearts in his presence.
This investment of time is needed if we are going to be effective as fragile vessels of clay to carry the light of the gospel into this lost world.
Our life, our confidence, and our sufficiency are sourced in Christ. All of the promises of God find their yes in Jesus Christ. Christ-empowered light can only shine through us as we allow and trust the power of the cross to suppress the self-life that is so eager to manifest itself.

Today, ask yourself:

Am I trusting in Christ to live his life through me instead of looking to my own self-effort to do so?

  The Roots of Hope Scripture: Habakkuk 3:17–19 “Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The land was soon to be invaded and, because of the disobedience of the people to God over time, prosperity was no more.   The Source of Son Power “ In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundation of the earth and made the heavens with your hands. They will perish, but you remain forever. They will wear out like old clothing. You will fold them up like a cloak and discard them like old clothing. But you are always the same; you will live forever. ” (Hebrews 1:10–12) These verses were written about Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Jesus is the one who laid the foundation of the earth! Jesus made the heavens with his hands! Jesus is the one who is always the same and will live forever! The earth and heavens we are able to see will be folded up someday and discarded like old clothing, but Jesus will live forever.
