Love The Way Jesus Christ Love!
How He showed it: He continually put the needs of others above His own comfort, time, and physical rest.
How to live it: Sacrificing doesn't always mean dying for someone; it often means giving your time, energy, resources, or convenience to help someone in need without expecting anything in return.
3. Servant-Minded Love
Jesus flipped the world's concept of leadership and greatness upside down. He showed that loving someone means being willing to serve them in humility.
How He showed it: During the Last Supper, He performed the lowly task of washing His disciples' feet, teaching them to do the same for one another (John 13:14–15).
How to live it: Look for practical, behind-the-scenes ways to help family, friends, colleagues, or neighbors without seeking recognition or praise.
4. Forgiving and Patient Love
Even while facing betrayal, denial, and torture, Jesus offered forgiveness. His love did not hold grudges or keep a record of wrongs.
How He showed it: On the cross, He prayed for His executioners: "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing" (Luke 23:34). He also fully restored Peter after Peter denied knowing Him three times.
How to live it: Choose forgiveness over resentment. Release bitterness toward those who have hurt you, and extend the same grace to others that you have received.
5. Compassionate and Action-Oriented Love
Jesus' love was deeply empathetic. When He saw people in pain, hungry, or grieving, He felt their sorrow and took immediate action to help them.
How He showed it: He wept with Mary and Martha when Lazarus died (John 11:35) and fed crowds of thousands because He had compassion on their physical hunger (Matthew 14:14).
How to live it: Pay attention to the burdens others are carrying. Don't just express sympathy in words; offer active comfort, encouragement, and aid.
6. Truthful and Redemptive Love
Jesus loved people too much to leave them in destructive patterns. His love was gentle, yet it spoke the truth clearly to bring healing and transformation.
How He showed it: To the woman caught in adultery, He offered complete freedom from condemnation, while also gently encouraging her to turn away from sin (John 8:11).
How to live it: Balance grace with truth. Be honest and constructive in your relationships, always speaking with kindness and aiming to uplift and heal.
A Daily Reflection
To love like Jesus is not something accomplished through human effort alone; it flows from experiencing His love firsthand. By spending time in prayer, reflecting on Scripture, and relying on the Holy Spirit daily, loving others with patience, humility, and grace becomes a natural lifestyle.
