STILL SMALL VOICE!

Image
STILL SMALL VOICE “…and after the earthquake a fire, but the  Lord  was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.” — 1 Kings 19:12, NKJV In Revelation 2, Jesus said: “The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” Obviously, Yeshua is saying: “When you hear the Spirit speaking, listen.” To hear the Holy Spirit we must be actively listening.  To detect the Holy Spirit’s voice, we need to develop the art of  intuitive listening . A practical way to develop this sensitivity to the Spirit’s leading is to begin each day by spending alone time with God. During this time we simply look up, sit quietly before Him, and know that He is God. I often listen to gentle worship music during this devotional time. Beloved one, if we are not disciplining ourselves by sitting before Him and simply being still, we will miss so many of the benefits of being His children. The prophet Elijah said the Lord spoke in a “still small voice...

4 Rs: The Kingdom of God!

Image
4 Rs: The Kingdom of God Scripture: Mark 4:26–28 “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how. For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head.”  (Mark 4:26–28) Relationship The kingdom of God is established in the believer through Jesus Christ. John tells us, “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life” (1 John 5:12) Revelation The Word of God is represented by the seed in the verses from the book of Mark. The seed is planted in the ground, sprouts, and then grows to a full crop. God’s Word is planted in us as we  soak our hearts in it. It grows in our heart and then displays its fruit in our lives. Reflection We do not fully understand how this happens, but we do know that God causes the growth. Over time we will see God’s Word growing in o...

Can God Trust You?

Image
Mary responded, “Oh, how my soul praises the Lord. How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior! For he took notice of his lowly servant girl, and from now on all generations will call me blessed.” Luke 1:46–48 Can God Trust You? In interesting that Mary never asked to give birth to the Christ. She wasn’t looking for the fame. She was about to get married to Joseph, making wedding plans. Right in the middle of one of the most exciting times in her life, she was interrupted. Her wedding plans were put on hold. It went from a celebratory time to a very stressful time. She was highly favored, but the burden of facing her fiancé, family, and friends who thought she’d been unfaithful must have seemed much bigger than the blessing. But the reason God chose Mary is because He knew He could trust her to carry the burden with a good attitude, without complaining, and fulfill His purpose. We talk a lot about us trusting God, but my question is, Can God trust you? Can He count on you to go throu...

Son Power Grows Within Us to Possess Our Entire Life!

Image
Son Power Grows Within Us to Possess Our Entire Life Scripture: Mark 4:30–32 “To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what parable shall we picture it? It is like a mustard seed which, when it is sown on the ground, is smaller than all the seeds on earth; but when it is sown, it grows up and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out large branches, so that the birds of the air may nest under its shade. ”  (Mark 4:30–32) Those who do not have a relationship with God reject the principles of the kingdom of God. Satan, the god of this present age, the prince of the power of the air, does not want us to think about eternal matters. He only wants us to devote our time, talent, and treasure to the consumable things of this life which will have no value in eternity. However, when  Son Power  takes root in the heart of one who receives Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, that person begins to experience transformation into a new creature. This t...

Believe!

Image
Elizabeth gave a glad cry and exclaimed to Mary, “God has blessed you above all women, and your child is blessed….You are blessed because you believed that the Lord would do what he said.” Luke 1:42, 45 Believe After Mary was told by the angel Gabriel that she was highly favored and that she would give birth to the Savior of the world, she visited her cousin Elizabeth. Even though Mary was blessed above all women, if she hadn’t believed God’s promise, she wouldn’t have seen the miracle come to pass. She could have easily talked herself out of what God said would happen to her, but instead she said, “God, I agree. I believe.” God is saying to you, “This is your due season. Dreams are coming to pass. Problems are turning around. You’re about to rise to a new level.” Now, you can let your circumstances talk you out of it, or you can do as Mary did and believe His Word. When you arise as she did, God will cause you to shine. Dare to believe big, to pray bold prayers, and to expect Go...

Think HIMpossible!

Image
Think HIMpossible Scripture: Matthew 19:26 “Jesus looked at them and said to them, ‘With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” (Matthew 19:26) “Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!”  (Romans 11:33) We don’t need to live in this world very long to come to the realization that there are circumstances, life events, and needs that far exceed our capacity to adequately deal with them successfully. In fact, at times there is so much facing us that we feel life is impossible. We need help in our everyday living. Thank God for  Son Power ! Many passages in the Bible tell us how great the counsel of God is and how mighty he is in his works. Since he is the God of all things, nothing is too hard for him. To help us in our everyday living, we need to think “Himpossible” rather than that the situations in our lives are impossible. No one can put God in a box. ...

Luke1:1-25!

Image
Introduction Luke 1:1–25: Luke’s Gospel opens with a prologue in which he sets forth his claim “to write an orderly account” concerning Jesus. His account begins by detailing the events surrounding the birth of John the Baptist. In today’s reading, the angel Gabriel appears to Zechariah and announces that, even though he and his wife Elizabeth are advanced in years, Elizabeth will bear a son who is to be named John. Because Zechariah responds to the angel’s message with doubt, he is rendered unable to speak. When Elizabeth becomes pregnant, she declares that the Lord has taken away her public disgrace. Today’s Key Verse: Luke 1:15 GNT “John will be great in the Lord’s sight … From his very birth he will be filled with the Holy Spirit.” Read 1  Dear Theophilus: Many people have done their best to write a report of the things that have taken place among us.  2  They wrote what we have been told by those who saw these things from the beginning and who proclaimed the m...
