Love The Way Jesus Christ Love!

Image
How He showed it: He continually put the needs of others above His own comfort, time, and physical rest.   How to live it: Sacrificing doesn't always mean dying for someone; it often means giving your time, energy, resources, or convenience to help someone in need without expecting anything in return. 3. Servant-Minded Love Jesus flipped the world's concept of leadership and greatness upside down. He showed that loving someone means being willing to serve them in humility.   How He showed it: During the Last Supper, He performed the lowly task of washing His disciples' feet, teaching them to do the same for one another (John 13:14–15).   How to live it: Look for practical, behind-the-scenes ways to help family, friends, colleagues, or neighbors without seeking recognition or praise. 4. Forgiving and Patient Love Even while facing betrayal, denial, and torture, Jesus offered forgiveness. His love did not hold grudges or keep a record of wrongs. ...

Seek , Set and Let!

Seek, Set, and Let Scripture: Colossians 3:1–3, NLT “ Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. ” (Colossians 3:1–3, NLT) Seeking the things above, and the realities of heaven, requires discipline. It takes discipline to effectively face and overcome diversions and the challenges of living in a broken world where everything we see and feel is in the process of perishing. We are only passing through a world in which we do not have a continuing city. Think in terms of  expanding the kingdom  – of helping people to come to Christ – of helping to fulfill the Great Commission. We are transformed as we renew our minds in the Word of God. That takes time and effort. We need to study, meditate, and allow the peace of Christ to rule ...

November 1 Introduction 1 Chronicles 13:1–14: Over the next ten days we will read from 1 Chronicles. The books of Chronicles tell the history of the Israelite kings, emphasizing David’s line and the origin of Temple worship in Jerusalem. In today’s reading, King David orders men to bring the Covenant Box (also known as the Ark of the Covenant) to Jerusalem. As it is being moved in a public celebration, the oxen stumble. Uzzah, one of the movers, reaches out to brace the Box and is killed instantly. David becomes afraid and decides to leave the Box in another city outside Jerusalem.    Today's Key Verse: 1 Chronicles 13:8 GNT David and all the people danced with all their might to honor God. They sang and played musical instruments—harps, drums, cymbals, and trumpets.   Read 1  King David consulted with all the officers in command of units of a thousand men and units of a hundred men.  2  Then he announced to all the people of Israel, “If you give you...

4 Rs: So. Power Seals, Reveals and Deals !

4 Rs: Son Power Seals, Reveals, and Deals Scripture: Acts 17:28, NLT “For in him we live and move and exist. As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’”  (Acts 17:28, NLT) Once we accept Jesus Christ into our life, Son Power is all encompassing. It affects all aspects of our relationship with God. Relationship Our relationship with God is established when the Holy Spirit seals us at the time we believe and trust in Jesus Christ to be our Lord and Savior. We are his offspring in the sense we are now children of God, heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ. We are in his “bloodline” because of the blood of Christ which pays for our sin. This is a relationship that cannot be broken (as noted by a multitude of passages in the Bible). Revelation The establishment of our relationship with God is just the beginning step. We soon discover through revelation that Son Power will now deal with us for the rest of our life in this world. We live in the Spirit. We are ...
