Jeremiah 33:1-11

Image
Jeremiah 33:1–11: Today’s reading references a time when King Zedekiah imprisoned the prophet Jeremiah in the royal palace in Jerusalem. The Lord warns him that Jerusalem’s destruction by a Babylonian attack is imminent. Still, the Lord also promises to rebuild Judah and Israel and restore prosperity. Today’s Key Verse: Jeremiah 33:7 GNT [The LORD said:] “I will make Judah and Israel prosperous, and I will rebuild them as they were before.” Read 33  While I was still in prison in the courtyard, the Lord's message came to me again.  2  The Lord, who made the earth, who formed it and set it in place, spoke to me. He whose name is the Lord said,  3  “Call to me, and I will answer you; I will tell you wonderful and marvelous things that you know nothing about.  4  I, the Lord, the God of Israel, say that the houses of Jerusalem and the royal palace of Judah will be torn down as a result of the siege and the attack.  5...

Perishable Vs Imperishable!

Image
Perishable vs. Imperishable Scripture: Luke 4:1–2 “Then Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River. He was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where he was tempted by the devil for forty days.”  (Luke 4:1–2) Without  Son Power , we are helpless to counter the deceitfulness of Satan. Notice in the above verses that Jesus was “full of the Holy Spirit.” Son Power gives us the wisdom we need to counter the various temptations of the evil one. The entire story of Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness is found in Luke 1:1–13.  Jesus was filled with the Spirit  and  led into the wilderness by the Spirit. He was tempted by Satan when he was at a point of human weakness. It was only through the power of the Holy Spirit that he was able to overcome Satan’s temptations. Satan tempted Jesus in areas of physical comfort, material blessings, and the allure of power and fame. With each attempt to tempt him, Jesus countered with the use of the Word of ...

Jeremiah 31:1-14!

Image
Jeremiah 31:1–14: Israel was composed of twelve tribes named after the sons of Jacob. After King Solomon died, the ten northern tribes formed their own kingdom (Israel), while the two southern tribes formed the kingdom of Judah. Jeremiah envisions a time when the Lord will rebuild Israel, the people will return to their own land, and the twelve tribes will be restored as one nation.   Today’s Key Verse: Jeremiah 31:7b GNT [The LORD says:] “Sing your song of praise, ‘The LORD has saved his people.’” Read 31  The Lord says, “The time is coming when I will be the God of all the tribes of Israel, and they will be my people.  2  In the desert I showed mercy to those people who had escaped death. When the people of Israel longed for rest,  3  I appeared to them [ a ]  from far away. People of Israel, I have always loved you, so I continue to show you my constant love.  4  Once again I will rebuild you. Once again you will take up y...

The Source of Son Power!

Image
The Source of Son Power Scripture: Hebrews 1:10–11 “ In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundation of the earth and made the heavens with your hands. They will perish, but you remain forever. They will wear out like old clothing. You will fold them up like a cloak and discard them like old clothing. But you are always the same; you will live forever. ” (Hebrews 1:10–12) These verses were written about Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Jesus is the one who laid the foundation of the earth! Jesus made the heavens with his hands! Jesus is the one who is always the same and will live forever! The earth and heavens we are able to see will be folded up someday and discarded like old clothing, but Jesus will live forever. From a human perspective, I do not know if we can even begin to comprehend the magnitude of these verses. We are talking about power far beyond any human imagination. We are talking about  Son Power . The same Son Power that is at work in the heart of the submissive...

Troublemakers!

Image
Friends of troublemakers disgrace their parents. Proverbs 28:7 Troublemakers Whether you think it’s true or not, the quality and character of your friends is having a great impact on your life. Are you hanging out with any troublemakers? By that I mean people who are dragging you down, not adding value to your life, not inspiring you to reach your dreams. For instance, you shouldn’t go to lunch regularly with coworkers who gossip, complain, and talk badly about others. Don’t keep meeting with the same people who cause you to compromise year after year. Don’t associate with someone who disrespects their spouse and puts down their family members. If your friend has an anger problem, it will rub off on you and you’ll become hot-tempered. No disrespect, but they are troublemakers. You are better than that, and you don’t need the poison they share. What you’re unwilling to walk away from is where you’ll get stuck. So on a regular basis evaluate your friendships. Make sure you’re hangi...

Divine Power!

Image
Divine Power Scripture: Zechariah 4:6 “ Then he said to me, ‘This is what the Lord says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.’ ” (Zechariah 4:6) Son Power   is the Holy Spirit at work in the life of the believer.  Son Power works in our life as we continue to receive the revelation and understanding of the Holy Spirit. He is the divine power of God, the Lord Jesus Christ himself prompting us and empowering us to do his will. Son Power is sourced in God alone.  Many passages in the Bible confirm that the sufficiency for living the Christian life is provided to us by God. It is not by self-power, self-effort, or self-reliance that we accomplish anything of everlasting value. Trusting in self to live the Christian life will always lead to failure. In John 6:63, Jesus said, “The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life”...

Be a ‘’Yet’’ Person!

Image
…yet will I rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation. Habakkuk 3:18 Be a “Yet” Person Oluwafemi, the prophet Habakkuk was saying, “My crops didn’t bloom, my fields are empty, and my cattle are gone. I am feeling discouraged, defeated, and depressed.” He didn’t deny what he felt, but he also didn’t let his feelings dictate his life. He added one little powerful word—“yet.” He was saying, “All that’s happened to me will not control my attitude. Yet will I rejoice. Yet will I be joyful, knowing that God is fighting my battles.” Feelings can be very powerful. Overwhelming negative feelings may come to you but do as Habakkuk did and add the “yet.” Don’t let the feelings have the last word. “I had a bad break, yet will I rejoice.” “The medical report isn’t good, yet it won’t steal my peace and joy.” “Coworkers aren’t treating me right, yet I know God is my vindicator.” When you add the “yet,” angels go to work. When you choose to praise instead of complain,...

Christ is the Power of God!

Image
Christ is the Power of God Scripture: 1 Corinthians 1:24–25, 27–29 “ But to those called by God to salvation … Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.    This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.…  God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God. ” (1 Corinthians 1:24–25, 27–29) All of life is sourced in God. He holds our very breath in his hand. He directs all of our ways. He gives us our abilities, opportunities, and whatever resources we need to live a life in conformance with his will. All that we have comes from God. The Bible makes it very clear...

KNOW GOD AND MAKE HIM KNOWN!

Image
KNOW GOD AND MAKE HIM KNOWN But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. — John 16:13  The Holy Spirit is God’s manifest presence to us. He will guide us into all truth and impart revelation. HaShem is in heaven, but the Spirit of God, the Ruach HaKodesh, is here on the earth to disclose Father to us and bring us closer to Him through Yeshua. The Holy Spirit will take of Jesus—His heart, nature, and will for our lives—and impart it to us. God gave us the gift of His Spirit to empower us continually, abide in us, and make real His boundless love in our lives. The Spirit is our breath—our very life. Without the Spirit, we cannot truly know God or fully belong to Him. And through the Spirit, we are empowered to be bold witnesses. As God’s Spirit enables us to know God, it is our responsibility to then make Him known. T...

Born of the Spirit!

Image
Born Of the Spirit Scripture: John 3:8 “ The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit. ” (John 3:8) These are the words of Jesus. The working of the Holy Spirit is like the wind; we cannot see it or control it, but we see its effects. God can do anything he wants. He cannot be put in a box. When we are born of the Spirit of God, he opens our spiritual eyes so we can see and understand his Word, but we do not always have a clear picture as to how this is accomplished. We are born by the Spirit, not by the will of man. God has chosen us to go and bear fruit for the expansion of his kingdom in order to bring glory to himself. Oh, how we want the Spirit to move greatly in our life so we can be productive in the kingdom of the Lord! We want to be like the seed that produces a huge crop, as in the parable of the sower in Matthew 13:23: “But the seed falling...

TRANSFORMED BU OUR TRIALS!

Image
TRANSFORMED BY OUR TRIALS For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison. — 2 Corinthians 4:17  Jesus understood that everything in His life had a divine purpose. Even when He was facing evil plots and schemes, Yeshua knew God had a reason for allowing them, and He trusted the Father in every situation.  When we face trials or circumstances we don’t understand, it is easy to let doubt creep in and question God. Some even get angry with Him. But Jesus’ example was to trust Father God’s faithfulness and His heart, which overflows with love and compassion for us. Our God is good, but His thoughts are above our thoughts, and His ways are above our ways. We must trust Father even when we do not fully comprehend His purpose. I know this is easier said than done. Because we see what is in the temporal realm, we often draw conclusions based on what we perceive in the natural, not realizing the bigger picture and tha...

Our Battle Is The Spirit’s Battle!

Image
Our Battle Is the Spirit’s Battle Scripture: 2 Chronicles 20:15 “ This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. ” (2 Chronicles 20:15) When we allow the Holy Spirit to take control of how we think, feel, and act, the battles we face become the Lord’s responsibility as we trust in him. The odds may seem to be insurmountable at times, but the One who laid the foundation of the earth and created the heavens is certainly able to overcome any possible problems we have. Our vision of God is often way too small. He is always able to remove the mountains and obstacles in our lives. In 2 Chronicles 20, the people listened to the Jahaziel, positioned themselves as instructed, and trusted in the Lord, praising him as they went forth into battle. By the time they met the enemy, the armies of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir had not only destroyed the enemy, they also turned on one another and destroyed each other. I...

The Wrong Voices!

Image
You won’t die!” the serpent replied to the woman. “God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.” Genesis 3:4–5 The Wrong Voices The enemy knows that if he can deceive you into listening to wrong voices, he can keep you from your destiny. This started in the garden of Eden. Satan came to Eve and said that she should just go ahead and eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Eve responded, “No. God said if we do, we will die.” Satan said, in effect, “Are you kidding? Do you really believe you’ll die? Of course not. God knows you’ll become just like Him. That’s why He doesn’t want you to eat that fruit.” Instead of recognizing the wrong voice, Eve started thinking about it more and more, and finally gave in. The enemy has no new tricks. He’s going to bring voices that try to stop your purpose. Sometimes it’s an outside voice, saying, “It’s okay to compromise a little. No one cares.” Other tim...
