The Sowing and Reaping Principle

Scripture: Galatians 6:8

“Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” 

The sowing and reaping principle is a key spiritual concept we need to incorporate in our lives. In the secular world we understand the more we invest in a good investment, the greater returns we can expect. The same is true in a spiritual sense.

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” (2 Corinthians 9:6)

The returns for investing properly in the kingdom of God are going to be HUGE! It makes sense for us to be wise and invest as much as we can when we have the opportunity to do so. Once any of our 3 Ts are invested or given, they cannot be taken away from us by anything or anyone. They are kept in heaven for us along with our salvation. “And into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you.” (1 Peter 1:4)

Because our investments in the kingdom of God are eternal, we want to make sure we practice the Kingdom of God principle of SOAK, SOW, and FLOW. We need to have the Spirit impart his life to our mortal bodies, which he will do if we sow to the Spirit.

“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.” (Romans 8:11)

Then the Spirit of Christ can bear fruit through us, enabling us to live more like Christ and enabling us to put to death the misdeeds of the body.

“For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.” (Romans 8:13)

These are great Scriptures to memorize and meditate on, making them “SPIRITUAL M&Ms.”They are also “BUTTON PUSHERS,” urging us to take the steps necessary to make them personally operative in our lives.

Today, ask yourself:

Am I sowing to my flesh, or am I sowing to the Spirit so I can reap eternal life today?

  The Roots of Hope Scripture: Habakkuk 3:17–19 “Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.   The Source of Son Power “ In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundation of the earth and made the heavens with your hands. They will perish, but you remain forever. They will wear out like old clothing. You will fold them up like a cloak and discard them like old clothing. But you are always the same; you will live forever. ” (Hebrews 1:10–12) These verses were written about Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Jesus is the one who laid the foundation of the earth! Jesus made the heavens with his hands! Jesus is the one who is always the same and will live forever!
